Does CX still check-thru luggage with MH? separate ticket, 3 hours layover at KUL. With the "skytrain" (or whatever the name it is) under renovation, it'll take over an hour to go to the main terminal, retrieve my luggage, check it in and go back to satellite terminal.
I might try to pack differently to avoid check in luggage if they do not interline.

As a courtesy, Cathay Pacific will through-check you and your bags to your final destination if you are travelling on separate tickets involving connections with our interline partners.
It does not state who are the interline partners, however I would assume all OW carriers should be partners.

Navigating through check of bags
Have an itinerary coming up that I would like some advice regarding through check of bags.
Flying LIS-LHR-HKG then HKG-KUL-BKK. Crazy journey, I know!
Check in at LIS will be with BA who will not through check bags. Was wondering if it would be worthwhile mentioning my seperate ticket at LHR lounge and seeing if they could retag my bag in HKG onwards to KUL and BKK? Or is this better done at HKG transit counter?
I have sufficient time to go through immigration and collect my bag, and check in again but would rather just connect and have more time for the lounge.
Any advice appreciated!

Question about AS/CX EWR-MNL
Will this work on the Oneworld alliance book EWR-LAX on AS and then CX LAX-MNL or purchase AS/CX EWR-MNL via LAX/SFO and HKG? For the first one, its AS295 to CX883 then CX907 to MNL final destination option 2 is AS295 to CX893 then CX901 to MNL as his final destination from EWR. This is because my father has no preference for flying PR127

Re-tag no longer an option in HKG Self-connecting in HKG .
So your choices are between: picking up the bag in HKG and check it in again; or, short checking LIS-LHR and then doing the same in LHR T3 (if CX is your LHR-HKG carrier) (but, you're responsible for walking your bag between trerminals).

I am almost certain neither BA Galleries at T5 (if LHR-HKG is BA) nor CX lounge in T3 (if LHR-HKG is CX) is going to be able to re-tag a bag currently in transit in LHR.
