CX WILL interline to other oneworld airlines if travelling on separate PNRs
Hi, I have heard that OW members will no longer check baggage to final destination if the two sections of flights are not on the same ticket. Is that true? If it is, when will this regulation be effective? Thanks.

1) on any carrier if on the same ticket;
2) on separate tickets only if the connection is to an OW airline.

oneworld transfers
If you are travelling on connecting oneworld flights, your luggage will be checked through to your final destination at the time of check-in.*
If the time between connecting oneworld flights is more than 12 hours, you may need to collect your luggage on arrival and check-in again with the outbound carrier.
...
*You may be required to collect and re-check your bags at certain airports due to local security or customs policies.

So either OW's website is incorrect, your stopover time is 12+ hours, or DOH has a new special policy effective 1 June...

It was QR 1018 connect to CX 738, only less than 2 hrs at DXB. Thus, it cannot be sure to long connections.

Several reports about problem interlining luggage.

The key question is : has there been a policy change?
It does not appear so, certainly as neither BA nor Oneworld have communicated any change.
Therefore it follows that this is BA staff incompetence.
It has happened to me about 5 times over the years - every time at the First check in in LHR and every time I escalated until it was successfully resolved.

Thanks. That sounds good. Some of my friends said that they had already experienced such trouble. The source however is unknown.

I think this explains why CX staff keep emphasizing "your flights are all on CX and KA right?" when I asked a question on check baggage involving two tickets today.....
