I don't know if it will help with your problem or not, but in the past people have reported getting better results by changing the search from "Flexible travel dates" to "Must travel on these dates". Might be worth a try.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. How do I change the option from "Flexible travel dates" to "Must travel on these dates"? I can't seem to find these options online now. (Or my eye sight must be failing me :()
1.) "Fixed Travel Dates" 2.) "Flexible Travel Dates (+/- 3 days)" |

On the homepage, right under where you enter your city pair and dates for flight search, you will see two radio buttons:
1.) "Fixed Travel Dates" 2.) "Flexible Travel Dates (+/- 3 days)" http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_S...NMULTI-15MAY13 Previous in the old website, these 2 options are available for selection as such targeted promotion page. |

If the changes were cosmetic, nothing would need to be rewritten from scratch; the crucial parts of the code should be the same and so the web site would work the same way. Clearly it does not, i.e. they changed and broke the underlying code. We don't know why they did it if no new functions were being added, but the fact is the existing functions aren't working properly, and that's not a "refresh".

Since I am so scare that I cannot select the seat and problem with OLCI, I have decided to fly on TK instead of CX to YYZ....
|
Still buggy.....
CX website, no matter the previous one or the current one, is always far behind from US carriers, like AA, UA, DL, and etc in terms of user interface and functionality. |
hclee01, Just call and book. I've had to call to book an HSBC special last year since I had to use my DM V class seat guarantee. (Worked well- the promo was a decent-ish discount, and i could use my seat guarantee, even though the promo was subject o availability).
No fees. |
Only one phrase for CX's new website:
Buggies, buggies everywhere Can't do award search. Everytime you hit in your destination and dates and hit "search", it'll give you this "we are now looking for your results" message with the arrow strobes, but about 3 seconds later it brings you back to the award search homepage with all details you filled in gone..

"Flexible Travel Dates (+/- 3 days)" Few weeks later I was trying to book a similar itinerary for a separate trip, and this time I really needed to be there at specific times. Much to my horror when I clicked into the site K fare was available for both ways! So I did a dummy booking on the first itinerary and found the same thing, I could have booked K for both outbound and inbound if I hit "fixed travel dates"! Gosh this glitch made me pay 5k HKD more! Watch out people, be smart and make sure you try out every possible option that yields booking results before you start entering your credit card detils... |

It's their laziness of not even showing up the message informing you there's no availability. |

The website forced me to buy W fare on the outbound and H on the inbound. So I purchased everything, feeling that it was kind of nice of them to bump me up to PEY even when I only selected "Economy", even though I knew it wasn't anything special.

That basically happen every time you search for a date with no availability. You'll get redirected to the next page if there was actually availability for your route + date.

Not sure if it's related to the new website, but trying to book a flight from KHH-HKG, and the multi-city booking interface automatically only populates Tokyo airports as destinations from KHH - so no HKG option.
