Yes until check in closes. I would suggest just to be a little cautious aim to submit the form no later than 2 hours before the flight.
You should get the FTV email within the hour. All the avios and cash for your reward booking will be held on the FTV and available for use towards a new booking. You can check availability online for your new flights but you will have to call to use the voucher and make the new booking.

Might be a silly question but for Avios bookings, if cancelling why would one pick a FTV and not get the points redeposited and the cash back ex the admin fee or is that not possible anymore and a FTV is the only option? Looking to make a potential reward booking but want to be sure I can cancel without having to take a FTV if needed. Thanks!
If timing isn't a factor then the advantage of the FTV is no cancellation fee, whereas cancelling would mean £35 per person deducted from the cash element of the refund.
But, yes normal cancellation rules still apply.

You can still cancel if you want for a reward booking, but that option is open up to 24 hours before whereas a FTV can be requested right up to when check in closes.

Sorry if it’s covered here, I tried to skim 53 pages:
Does the flexibility extend to partly flown bookings? For example, I need to come back sooner or later, for whatever reason - with a price difference calculated or course.

Mrs 383 and myself have an open jaw Amex 2for1 booking, made in Feb 2021.
Outbound 12th Sept LHR - Montreal.
Return 25th Sept JFK - LHR.
Canadian passport for Mrs383, British passport for me.
Our reason for visiting NYC has been cancelled and I'm not sure they will even be allowing UK citizens in.
We would still like to visit family in Montreal and Canada currently seems to have a policy of allowing citizens and immediate family in but with some restrictions, including a minimum 15 day stay. (that our dates don't meet)
If we were to cancel can we take a FTV that will wrap up the 2for1 voucher?
Will this FTV with the 2for1 be valid to April 2023?
Would we have to pay the £35pp fee as this is a voluntary cancellation? (even though the current rules suggest I wouldn't gain entry to Canada)

Yes requesting a FTV would keep everything in there (cash, avios, and 241), and any 241 in the FTV would be available for your new booking which can be for travel up to April 2023.
There are no fees deducted if you go for a FTV. The email you get won't show a value but it will be for exactly the amount of cash, avios and 241 you used originally.
When you come to make a new booking, you can check availability online but would have to call to make the booking with the FTV.

Thanks KARFA and Donsyb.
We were hoping that rules might relax in August.
Our best case scenario is to cancel without fees and extend the 2for1 voucher (that was originally valid to Nov '21) and then rebook a simple LHR - YUL return using another 2for1 that's due to expire in Dec '21

Good point from Donsyb. I think I should have added there is no rush to request the FTV, you can make a decision much closer to your travel date, you can request a FTV right up to when online check in closes, but I assume you probably would have made your decision a little earlier than that

Apologies, as from others, if this has been covered in the thread. I could not easily see.
Has there been any speculation about when the CTB policy might wind down?
I’m considering making and cancelling a redemption booking in order to extend an Amex 241 voucher from June 22 to April 23 by getting a FTV.
Personal circumstances mean whatever happens with the pandemic, I’m unlikely to want to make a big trip in the next year or so.
