I think I could deal with the 3am ‘alarm’, and the 5am arrival is marginally more convenient for me on paper, but as I’ll be straight into a work event, comfort and sleep are important. Prices are almost identical. Would you recommend the old CW (5K or otherwise) in terms of comfort for a tall fella?

TIA

Possible change of aircraft to one with Club Suites perhaps - it happened to me yesterday and had to ring to get seats sorted out.

If you can only sleep well when stretched out flat, that 5K seat would probably be marginally better, but the Club Suite is improved in just about every other way. It'll be more private, in newer condition, etc, etc and TBH, that would help me sleep easier. BUT I'm not as tall as you and one thing I will say is that getting in and out of the suite can a bit of a faff, especially with the seat reclined or in the bed position. All banging knees and elbows unless the seat is quite upright, for me at least. This will be an issue in most reverse herringbone set ups I think. And if you sleep like a log and won't need to get up at all, maybe not a concern at all, but the BA suite feels more hemmed in than some others. Your experience may be different (I didn't want to confuse the issue by writing "YMMV" in this context, lol), but... I'll bet that this may be worse for those of lofty stature. On balance though, the suite has it by miles.

I'm 6'4" and find the Club suites extremely comfortable, would definitely opt for those.

Thanks for the replies. I went for the old CW simply because the price on the CS flight had increased by around £150 this morning and was now £250 more. So I guess the next question would be is 5K the best seat in the house for a tall traveler, or would I be better off opting for a front of cabin forward facing seat, or 11A/K? I do like a window, and I understand 5K is missing one, however that’s a long way down the list of priorities on this occasion.

Flying LHR-LAX on Jan 29 (return Feb 5) and firmly planted in 16A both ways. Any sense of what the chances of an equipment change to CS might be?

Choosing Seats 777

Never flown BA before but it was the best option home from NBO to SFO. I am a little confused on the seat map. BA shows the first seat map so looks like the best remaining seats for a couple would be 13JK. But if I look at Seat Guru for that flight (BA#64 on Aug 27th), it shows a very different configuration that would put the best seats of couples in what looks like the middle, 14EF. So which configuration is correct? TIA.

Seat guru is woefully out of date.
Use the wiki at top or aerolopa
On Expertflyer it looks like a 4 class 777 with old style club seating in row 10-15.

Yes on Expertflyer it looks like the old 777. I did notice when we booked that First was not even offered and Expertflyer shows every seat in First taken. Does this seem correct or could it be that we will have an equipment change?

Not sure that NBO normally has First. Might be the case of 4 class used but only 3 classes sold, which has been quite common on Caribbean routes. A lucky few might get put in First cabin with Club world service if Club is over sold.

This seat plan doesn't seem to correlate with any of the seat plans on the Wiki or AeroLOPA. I'm travelling with 3 kids (all teens so old enough to sit in window seats alone) but if there is a galley between rows 7 and 8 then I will re-think my choice. It is BA189 to EWK. Many thanks.
