Assuming by those seat numbers that you're in F as a couple, then I think that it's usually 2EF if you want to sit side-by-side.

Well, here's the confusing thing. App says 1A/E/F/K - which is the same equivalent for rows 2 and 4. Only row 3 is A/K.
Which plane have we been switched to?!

Edit: 77N, it would seem

I think this is the same for all of the 14F 777s.

The wikipost to the HKG equipment changes thread does say "The 777-300ER (77W) [aka 77N] is the 777 variant usually operating to HKG."

I recently flew this route with Mrs S on a 777-300. We had 1F and 1K which we found excellent, using 1K for buddy dining. We were not at all bothered by any galley noise, and had a whale of time on what was essentially a 12 hour meal with extended aperitifs and digestifs.

We just did a night flight in 1K/2K. The all-night chatter from the galley prevented me getting any sleep at all in 1K. Row 2 next time I think if we get another opportunity.

For my sins I am flying in WT from LGW to ANU in a couple of weeks time. I appreciate it is down the back but can anyone advise on best seats for myself and Mrs HG? It's a last minute booking and emergency exit seats appear to be unavailable even for cash, although I'm not sure if this is due to it being booked via Amex travel (I'm BA Silver).

I'm going to ask for some advice on the seat load thread too as most of the cabin appears available currently for seat selection, so hoping loads may be light down the back.

Hi all,

I have a trip on a 4 class 777-200 with CW in rows 10-15.

As far as I can tell, the only bulkhead seats (15A, 15K) are blocked in case someone will travel with an infant. They will be released 24 hours to departure if no passenger with infant will select them.

I have a dilemma, because I am not sure if it's worth buying a seat (don't have BA status) or wait until 24 hours before departure. I would happily pay for 15A and 15K right now if they were made available, but I don't know how I feel about paying for a non-ideal seat.
At the same time, if I don't select one I could get stuck in the middle.

10 D & G are available for $140. Though I am not sure if they will be serving other passengers' meals over me. In these seats there is no middle seat passengers who need to go over you.
There are other aisle and window seats available too, cabin is about 40-50% full at the moment (from seat selection chart).

I don't have a good idea how full the flight would end up being. I normally fly different routes than this. In case it's helpful this is for a Tue departure around middle of January from LHR to SEA.

If you have any advice, feel free to share.

Thanks for your help.

Flew in 10D yesterday on this configuration, and yes, almost the whole flight the meal for the person in 10E was served across me. Also, because it is the first row the flight attendant opened "my" bin over me several times to stash things (why I do not know but it woke me up). Lots of walking past as everyone uses the loos in front of this row. Did not experience an issue with odor, though, on my 10.5 hour flight.

On LHR-YYZ BA 99 tomorrow. The seat map changed overnight to show rows 2 and 4 now available. I guess this is F used as CW. Given how unfilled the regular CW cabin is, what are the chances my 2K seat section will stick? Should I chance it or stick with one of the better CW seats in the regular cabin? I have a strong window preference..

Thanks

And no, there is no requirement to sit next-to-each other if this means a better seat I've already set-up an alert on expertflyer in case a window seat pops up.

Ignore the actual block out seats above. We are are the same type of plane with good but not full availability. What are the best seats/next best for 2 on this plane? Thanks

If youre looking at a pair, the back ones have guilt free recline but there is more room further forward as the cabin narrows considerably at the tail. I have chosen the second row of twins ( row 43 in this instance ) before as there is some space on the window side along side the twin row in front ( row 42 )..

You will be almost last off of course and if loads are low then a 3 with an empty middle seat is best of all.

Whats the route/date and I will check the load for you.

Thanks! It's LGW-PUJ on 3rd Feb. Any downside to choosing 44th (last) row? I like to have my seat reclined throughout the meal service, but not sure if the wall directly behind obstructs the seats in any way.

Thanks,
Paul
