That sounds like a closed book.

Have you called them?

what is the current status of the PP referral? Better to go via quidco for the £45?

Wait until after 12th when current offer ends, see what replaces it

Amex at it again.

I am still in the formal complaints procedure after the debacle of getting my BAPP bonus Avios.

Now Amex are at it again with my wife.

I referred her in May when the offer was 9,000 Avios for me and 31,000 for her.

Amex now claiming she is only due 1000 Avios for a £500 spend.

Does anyone ever recall a referral offer being so rubbish?!!!

Have sent a strongly worded reply via Amex website. If they keep wriggling, that's it, I am involving Ombudsman and the Advertising Standards Authority, as it is clearly not an isolated incident.

They simply do not want to give these bonuses unless harassed and it isn't on in my opinion.

Yes, have got all paperwork ready apart from the original hire agreement which the greek bloke kept.

So I called Corfu last night and he has promised to scan it and email it to me. Not here yet but things don't happen quick in the greek isles.

I think it is general incompetence from Amex rather than a deliberate strategy. Whilst they are spot on when it comes to the financials, their communications and handling of MR/Avios seem to be hit or miss. Several times I've had thousands of bonus points posted and no idea why.

It is always worth taking screen shots of any promo details, and also of the booking/application screens to ensure your complaint is no than than "you offered this, here is the proof, please post the missing bonus points..."

Contrary to Geoggy's experience, my 30,000 bonus avios are due to be transferred to my next BAEC statement. I reached the £3k in less than 3 months and they are already being transferred. No long wait, very pleased indeed.

Same here. Hit the £3k half way through my second statement, and the 40k bonus points showed next to the qualifying transaction. They posted to my BAEC as 18k in one transaction and the remaining 22k added to the points for my monthly spend.

What if I spend £2k on my BA Amex and balance transfer it to another credit card – do I receive 2k avios/ba miles?

Yes, because an incoming balance transfer is just considered to be a payment. It'd look the same if you sent them a faster payment from your bank account.
