2 caveats - (i) OZ fly LHR-ICN 4 times a week, the SYD flight is daily. If you don't put the correct dates into the ANA tool (ie both your outbound and inbound dates must be days that OZ fly to LHR) it will refuse to play ball
(ii) The SYD-ICN flight arrives in ICN after the LHR flight has departed, forcing you to stop-over.
Importantly for those traveling in groups larger than 2, it appears that OZ make 5 or so seats available on both the LHR-ICN and ICN-SYD sectors, TG seem to restrict themselves to 2 in F and 2 in J; with no guarantee of course that they will release more in the future.

I am actually looking for 2 tix in either F or C
Apologies for being vague in my first post.

Sorry for the confusion.
Our actual trip is SYD-SIN-BKK or HKG-ZRH-FCO//ARN-ZRH-HKG or NRT-AKL-SYD
I already have the SYD-SIN-BKK or HKG and the end to SYD.
So I am searching for 2 x F or C availability for
5,6,7 march BKK or HKG-ZRH-FCO
20,21,22,23 march ARN-ZRH-NRT or HKG
Hopefully this should make more sense.

Not 100% the perfect thread to ask but didn't want to create a new one just for that. I'm looking at making a redemption in C for 2 from SIN to Japan (Z7 to Z8) and was wondering if surface sectors in the same country are allowed as part of a one-way? For example:
1. SIN-NGO (SQ) - surface sector - KIX-CTS (NH)
2. CTS-NRT (NH) - surface sector - NGO-SIN (SQ)
Now I'm trying to fly into KIX but SQ does not even offer one Biz seat on the A333 in Nov but plenty on the NGO route. For the return I was thinking going out of NRT but the only one offering 2 seats is NH on the 763ER with the non-lie flat seats so I'm torn if I should go back via NGO too to at least have a angled flat seat on SQ (SQ11 NRT-SIN on 747 shows nil seats in C like forever).
Plus while I'm rambling on here, has anyone any experience on redeeming for NH Premium Class on Domestic routes in Japan or is it like NZ Prem Eco or so that you just can't get it and need to settle for regular Y (not that that is a problem, just wondering)?
Also I look for routings via BKK but ANA pulls a blank showing no flights for BKK-NRT-BKK on TG in Nov. which is the weirdest thing. Maybe the TG schedule is not loaded yet.

It's probably possible as others have managed surface sectors in the past.
That said, are you aware that most NH domestic flights do not have business class?
edit: just re-read your post.
You will have to settle for Y on these routes as the NH Super Seats are only allowed for NH members or paid tickets.
You could try looking at flying to HND instead of NRT to increase your options as Haneda International is the main Tokyo Domestic airport (although soon to expand to include more international routes than the current three).

New question from a redemption newbie:
If ANA tool shows availability in Economy for a certain set of segments, is there any possibility that the DC helpdesk will not be able to book them?
I found following flights on ANA, but the DC helpdesk said that return flights are not available for reward booking in economy:
11-Mar OTP 19:25 IST 20:45
11-Mar IST 23:35 CAI 01:50
21-Mar CAI 03:50 IST 06:15
21-Mar IST 08:30 OTP 09:55
Would you recommend to "push" helpdesk to search again and book these flights, or is it one of the situations where ANA tool is just a tool, and final word lies with DC helpdesk?

I've had this before and I would try again, insisting that you know there is availability. I can see seats OK on ANA too.

am i correct in assuming that there are no longer business class awards available on the SIN-MLE-SIN route on SQ now that equipment is switching to the A330? or is the A330 not reserved for only Krisflyer awards?
was looking for a C class award sometime in Oct. 2010.

I would push them again...and again... and again.....don't give up. One agent may all of sudden be able to see what you do, it can be hit and miss with the ICC depending on the agent you get as we all know.

Have you tried giving them the exact flight details/times and building up the itinerary step by step ? Have you also tried booking as two one ways ?

A330 biz is bookable with DC miles. Its classed as regional business. They probably haven't released the award seats yet.
