Unhappy Redemption Help! (LHR - LAX/LAS)

Hi all - having had all kinds of trouble with the ICC, I wonder if someone would be able to help provide availability (2 seats) info for the following:

LHR->LAX 09/10 to 16/10 (pref via Virgin in Upper), or alternatively
LHR->LAS 09/10 to 16/10 (again pref Virgin in Upper)

Your help would be greatly appreciated. Getting very annoyed with the CC right now!!

Paul

Just an observation: Europe to LAX seems such a popular request. Also on the look out for this route myself during the summer however i shall hold back until several weeks before in the hope of scoring last minute releases on more favourable airlines to fly J(AC, NZ, CO...)

Hi,

1st question: does anybody know whether it's possible to redeem miles on Brussels Airlines' service between BHX/BRS and BRU (SN only offers Economy Flexible fares on these routes)?

2nd question: BD initially charged taxes of 31.20 fur LHR-BRU, whereas SN now charges taxes of 63.90 (32.20 airport taxes + 31.70 airline fees) according to their booking engine. So, do I have to pay 31.20 or 63.90...or something in between?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can, award seats are showing on ANA (as per FAQ #4)

And for a LHR-BRU redemption on SN, you pay SNs fees and taxes, not BDs.

OK, that's what I did
So after many hours of searching, playing with routes and dates I have progressed quite a way but just wanted to check a couple of things with experienced members here before I call up the line and try to book.

So I am going from LHR to NAN
I believe I can have one stop on the way, free of charge - correct?
In which case I plan to route myself via BKK for a couple of weeks - a stop of 2 weeks is OK, right? All I could see on the BMI site was
Outside of Europe one stop-over is permitted. A stop-over is a lapse of at least 24 hours between your arrival and departure at any transfer point
I want to travel business class and have found the following options:

LHR -FRA - BKK flying with LH
or
LHR - BKK with TG

(there is also LHR - CPH - BKK but SK's business class doesn't look any more tempting than TG)

It looks like LH have lie-flat beds whereas TG do not - so tempted to go for LH here. Altho TG has F class but wasn't planning on spending the extra - unless it's worth it? Any comments on those two airlines? I couldn't check LX's availability thru the ANA tool - is their business cabin worth it?

Then onwards 2 weeks later:
BKK - AKL - NAN

Can anyone see any fatal error in routing that a novice like me has made?

As far as availability goes, I have found some dates with space in business.

Thanks again!

Additional question: Would it be a valid route to connect in SIN between BKK and AKL? I think SIN is further east than BKK so I'd still be going in the same direction, which is what matters - right?
Thanks again FTers!

Actually..if anyone could check Swiss Airlines availability to BKK on dates between 12th and 19th February it would be most appreciated.

Looks good to me. You should have no problems in booking this. Yes your stop over is fine too. Personally I would go for TG over LH, I feel the far eastern carriers offer better service. The seats are more or less the same on both TG & LH they are the slippery almost lye flat ones. TG has business upstairs on the 744 where as LH has F upstairs so if you like the feeling of being in the upper deck of the 747 then go for TG.

Thank you kchika and lallyr for the advice - will try to book them today.

However, just trying to use the ANA tool for a last minute check and it is coming up with black triangles rather than circles or crosses denoting "request available". It does that for every flight, so is proving no use at all today - ideas?

Please could someone check DXB-MAN availability on LX for 9/2 or 10/2 in J.

Is there an easy/quick/cheap way to get a minimal amount of miles into a M&M account that would get me a PIN for my account and allow me to check myself?

Thanks

Nothing in J either day. You can have F (2 seats) or Y (9 seats) either day.

Not sure about M&M but ExpertFlyer will give you a free 5 day trial.
