Yes, you can redeem in F C and Y, availability shows on ANA. Make a dummy booking on the UA site to assess fees & taxes : came up with USD 36.00.

It is possible but they don't like doing it. I fought with the call centre and got them to add on an LHR-GLA leg to a ticket which had been booked and issued as terminating in London.

So just to make sure I understand correctly... Are all of the following changes free of charge? If not, what will be the change fees be?
A. SIN-FRA-EDI to SIN-LHR-EDI
B. SIN-ZRH-DLA to SIN-ZRH-DAR
C. SIN-LHR to SIN-LHR-EDI

Thanks. I didn't want to add on a segment rather change the last segment but I assume that would be the same thing?

A is a 20 change
B+C could be a change or a cancel and rebook - you will need to fight to get them done as a change
don't think there is such a thing as a "free change"
...someone may know otherwise

Redemption Help - Family of 5 in C!
Hi
After much searching the forum, signing up for KVS tool and expertflyer - I thought I would try seeking the expertise of the board..
After years of graft to accumulate 300,000 miles, now have a decent amount of miles to use up for family holiday next July (poss late June). Ideally Toronto, Vancouver or San Diego from Aberdeen in C (via whatever route LGR/MAN etc)
Tried lots of permutations and sometimes find availaibility for UA F to IAD - don't really want to use up that much miles for F though and would rather go C - never see any C for UA though on any route
Any guidance or alternative destinations that I might get 5 seats in C on?
Thanks for any help and happy 2010 travels
Cheers
James

SWISS tend to have good availability in C as do LH, but this might mean a track down to MAN, or alternatively an early morning flight to DUB with FR, if one exists.
To be honest, I've struggled to find availability to/from Canada at all. Seems to be very tightly controlled in C by AC, the only thing I could suggest is look at splitting your party up, going 3 on one flight, 2 on another, etc, or booking c where it is available, booking the rest in Y and paying the 20 quid fee to change to c if/as it becomes available.
There is a post on another thread of a person finding 7
seats on LX in C, so it is possible!
Best of luck!

You're good for ORD-ZRH on all the dates requested. Available seats are 3,8,8,7. Nothing SFO-ZRH direct, although Swiss announced the route I don't think any award inventory has been released yet.

Hi jamesegrant, as BrianDromey mentions - LX or LH might be your best bet, flying out of one of their hubs i.e. ZUR for LX. Discussion on this topic can be found at the following thread : Finding 4 redemption seats . Something obvious, but a look at the routemaps for LX can reveal locations that you won't necessary think that they serve.
LX have not yet released redemptions on their new ZUR-SFO route but from a booking I did recently for 6 pax - availablility into LAX from ZUR is good for large group - perhaps not always on the weekend.
All the best with the booking !

Hi BrianDromey and Vantheman
Thanks for your help - there seems to be a few creative possibilities to MIA (for Fort Lauderdale) on both LX and LH from ZUR and FRA available - now just need to persuade the wife!
Cheers
James

Redemptions to Australia
Not sure if this is the right thread, but does TG seem to be the only option for redemptions in J on say LHR-SYD? As people have said, using bmi miles on the Kangaroo route seems to be bad!
NZ/UA redemption seems awful in J via LAX too
