Suggest, when you call back, you ask for the specific flight numbers, sector by sector. That usually works.

NGO-ICN-SYD 280pounds taxes C&M
NGO-BKK-SYD 210pound taxes C&M
Does the taxes sound correct? It sounds pretty high! And btw, the agent was really annoyed that I basically told him all the sectors I wanted and boy, was he showing some CBA attitude.
Would it be too much of a risk to book say next weekend considering it is still far out or should I book asap once i get the flights i wanted?

Hi guys,
I'm looking at going from EDI to ORD, sometime August 2012. Aeroplan shows availability, but not the most obvious routings (not an issue, makes it more interesting), but ITA isn't finding them, such as EDI-CPH-ORD on BDr and SK.
I've been following this and the other redemption threads in the forum.
The Aeroplan and ITA matrix tools have proved useful in giving an idea of availability and taxes. From what see posted here, I gather that the taxes should be broadly along the lines of what ITA says. And the availability shown by Aeroplan is going to be similar to what DC has? Or is it totally different availability for each programme?
Equally, I gather that LOT and US Airways don't charge the YQ supplement, is it therefore harder to get reward seats with them?
Given the UK APD, is it a popular choice to hop over to DUB on a revenue ticket and then have the redemption start there? And does anyone have experience of trying this?
And finally, we've got just over 25K miles, is it worth buying another chunk now, when the offer is on, to get up to 38K for a J return?
So, M+C booking in Y (25K + 170 + taxes) EDI-ORD AUG12
Could possibly run to J, but how sensible is doing Y out and J return? I'm just a student, so this might be the only stab at J I get for a few years!
Thanks

I would go for the J class, if you are booking in Y then the cash element and taxes are likely to be similar to a paid ticket

Yeah, I wasn't sure about what is happening with Regional, but that via CPH routing was more just an example of the less than immediately obvious ones, via LHR or EWR.
Something else I noticed, what happens then with the EDI-LHR part, assuming I end up via LHR? I know with BA and their changes those sectors don't add anything now. Is that charged at the extra 7500 miles, or half that when it's M+C? And if I can get EDI-EWR do I avoid that?
As I see it, I have three basic routings: straight to the US (EDI-EWR), via somewhere UK/Europe (EDI-LHR/MAN/AMS) or starting the redemption from DUB to pay less APD. If I can manage to get it in J, then it'd be my first J, and I'd be very excited for it!
Sorry for all the questions, this is the first time I've have enough points for a decent redemption!

I have just accessed the ANA tool, but find that it is only available for flights over 7 days ahead. My wife and I are booked from JFK-GVA-LHR on 19 December and I am thinking of phoning to see if there are any direct flights available.
We are currently in USA. Is there a number to call over here?

Who needs Google when there's a workaround to the 'within 7 day' issue in post #1 of the ANA masterclass thread ?.

We're looking to fly out to SFO in September/October time in business class to use up the 75k miles we've built up over the last couple of years before it goes over to BA.
I've got that KVS tool but not finding anything. We're going from MAN originally but I've been looking from FRA because tax is more here I believe?
I've literally gone through all of September and half of October looking for a single seat and not found anything. I've found a few in March time so I don't know if it's because availability isn't released yet or if it's all gone?
If people can suggest alternative routings etc. I don't mind doing the legwork with the KVS tool, we're happy to fly to somewhere in Europe first but would probably be fine booking from a UK airport too if needs be.

My partner and I both have 26k BMI miles to burn thanks to the credit card promotion. I've studied the information on here, and believe I can make the following use of the miles. I'd appreciate confirmation from a more knowledgeable member that this is a valid routing (subject to availability):
Zone 1-3 Redemption: 25k miles + 140 cash each (I think taxes etc are 400 each on this routing)
Outward
Day 1 AC855 LHR to YVR
Stop over
Day 4 AC8097 YVR to SEA
Return
Day 9 AC542 SEA to YYZ
Stop over
Day 13 AC858 YYZ to LHR
Anyone see any problems with this proposed routing?
Thanks!
