Thanks, appreciated, in the end I went for different itinerary, it is for my gf and she decided to skip HKG and go directly ICN-IST-DUB instead.

funniness on flybmi.com for LHR-DME

Morning,

trying to book LHR-DME return on flybmi.com (a C&M J rtn will forever be an 'Economist' to me ) and finding some oddities...

Once I select my departure and return points, I get the month calendar, which shows every single date in November as being available in both cabins. However when I choose my dates and hit continue I get logged back out again.

ANA is showing no availability for my return date, and a quick call to the ICC confirms this.

a) is this a simple website problem where the availability calendar is fubar, and selecting an unavailable date causes the site to log me out, or
b) is the booking system as a whole fubar, and so leaving it for a while might mean that DME-LHR becomes available?

EDIT - return date I'm looking for is Nov 3 if anyone could check on KVS...

Separate point - I will be coming back into LHR w BD, either award or revenue, and connecting to a separate BA flight (don't ask, don't ask). If the BD flight is very late (>90 minutes) and I miss the BA flight, will BD help at all in getting me to TXL or am I sol? [I know they have no formal requirement to, but wondering if they'd open up a cheap rev ticket or something]

tia

Yes, if you pick some dates on which ANA shows availability, it works OK. Were you referring to the website, or this problem, as 'simple' ?

BD's help would be limited to asking BA to re-route you.

Redemption help - LON-PER rtn over xmas

Long time flyer, first time DC redemption, so would appreciate the expertise of those on here... I'm looking for a return business fare from LON to PER in Dec. I'm pretty flexible with dates (as long as I'm in PER for xmas), but would prefer to return to LON some time between 27 Dec and 8 Jan and be away for around 3 weeks. Can anyone please help?

"Awards and Upgrades"
Airline = "Air New Zealand - NZ"
Class = "Business - Awards using Airpoints & Comp upgrades for Golds (I)"

I think you will really struggle to find any availability in J for OZ at this very late stage. Might I suggest that you check the route finder on Staralliance.com and include searches for routes between likely intermediate points. You could then try ANA,Continental and Aeroplan for availability. You might find availability to or via otherwise unlikely routings e.g. there is often availability to BKK via DME when everything else has gone. It is unlikely that there will be any/many? J seats released for the dates you want at a late stage as they can generally be sold for big bucks! If you could find a flight to Asia you might want to consider a LCC flight to Perth on such as Air Asia. The one possible return date might be 31 December, not a popular date to fly on. Hope this is of some help.

Thanks! These are all really helpful suggestions. It seems I can find availability in J in/out of LON, but struggle for the segments in/out of PER (thoughm there is availability in Y). Unless I get lucky somehow, I might do what you suggest and combine seperate tickets.

I got C to EWR in July with CO, but for the life of me I cant remember what time frame I got the flight. From experience, when does DUB-EWR with CO redemption flights open up?

Cheers

For Air NZ, use the Continental tool instead- it shows a month-long search instead of week-long. Check the "non stop flights" only box and search segment-by-segment.
