My partner and I both have 26k BMI miles to burn thanks to the credit card promotion. I've studied the information on here, and believe I can make the following use of the miles. I'd appreciate confirmation from a more knowledgeable member that this is a valid routing (subject to availability):
Zone 1-3 Redemption: 25k miles + 140 cash each (I think taxes etc are 400 each on this routing)
Outward
Day 1 AC855 LHR to YVR
Stop over
Day 4 AC8097 YVR to SEA
Return
Day 9 AC542 SEA to YYZ
Stop over
Day 13 AC858 YYZ to LHR
Anyone see any problems with this proposed routing?
Thanks!

Thanks to both.
Yes - economy flights as we only have 26k miles each to burn.
I was originally looking at doing business LHR>YVR>SEA for 18.5k miles + 110 cash, and then flying direct back YVR>LHR on the new VS service using my miles with them. However, business availability on AC855 seems very limited as far as I can see and using points for an economy return still saves over 400 on the cash fare and allows us an extra stop in YYZ. Not bad for taking out a credit card and spending 250 on it ^

Availability from ISB to KUL
Need a bit of help doing my first DC redemption! Looking at booking business class on TG from ISB to KUL, via BKK, in July next year. Am I likely to be able to find three seats? We can be flexible on dates to a certain extent.
Also, is it possible to book a stopover in BKK on the return leg? We're hoping to spend a couple of weeks there with family.
Cheers for any advice, from a complete newbie at this sort of thing...

Further to my post on the last page, I'm really struggling at the moment to find anything - wondering if I'm doing things wrong!
As I said previously we're looking to get the 2 of us from MAN to SFO but don't really care about the routing too much other than would like to go C most of the way (ie. happy to fly into Europe from MAN seperately and go C the rest). Preferably we'd like to go September/October 2012.
I've managed to find some flights in early April FRA-SFO but that's about it. Not a single seat showing for all of September/October on that route. I can also find some early April SFO-FRA flights but again that's it.
Should there be availability showing in September/October? I've tried from a number of destinations into SFO but am finding nothing for then.
If anyone's got any tips of routings etc. I should be trying instead of trying to go direct from european airports directly to SFO I'd appreciate it.

I would try AC. A quick check shows scattered availability for 2 C seats LHR-YYZ-SFO and return, e.g. out 21/9 return 27/9. There may be other dates and other routes from European airports but I didn't check those (or your connections from MAN).
If you're using ANA it won't find these by default if you just ask it to look for LHR-SFO, so you can either search sector by sector or specify your transit city (YYZ, YUL, YVR).
West coast is always tricky though so best of luck.

I'm using the KVS tool which is certainly a lot easier for this kind of thing at least.

Edit: Any thoughts on European departure points to avoid the UK taxes?

hello all, I know it is a long way out but I need 2 seats to Perth, WA for next December, no specific dates required, just sometime in December.
Am I too early for release of availability?
thanks, Gordie

Just checking revenue flights too and SQ for example is only up to the 12th Dec currently - you may want to try pot luck with the ICC (but I prefer to be armed in advance!)

ANA is showing plenty of C availability, for example :
7/2 (MO) TG350 Islamabad Bangkok(BKK) 23:35 06:20 +1 333
7/3 (TU) TG415 Bangkok(BKK) Kuala Lumpur 08:45 11:55 772
7/18 (WE) TG416 Kuala Lumpur Bangkok(BKK) 13:05 14:10 772
7/18 (WE) TG349 Bangkok(BKK) Islamabad 18:50 22:25 333
have 2 C seats, and also 2 Y seats as a fallback.
A 2 week stopover in BKK is OK.

That's great thank you, think I'm finally getting somewhere!
I have yet another question(!)
Trying to work out taxes now, I've been looking at that ITA Matrix, if I put in LHR-SFO it comes out at around 500 but doesn't go the routing I'm looking at (goes via Montreal). Am I better adding up for the two seperate legs (ie LHR-YYZ & YYZ - SFO)
I presume the AC YQ surcharge does apply on reward flights?

Unfortunately I think it does, I previously had a SFO-YYZ-LHR flight booked one way and it was just under 300 in taxes, managed to swap it for SFO-LAX-LHR (with NZ) and it was around 35 for taxes (earlier this year but I believe they charge the NZ YQ now)

You can force ITA to go via YYZ by inputting LHR::YYZ in the "departing from" box and SFO::YYZ in the "destination" box. You could even specify your exact flight numbers if you know them, e.g. "LHR::AC857 AC739" and "SFO::AC758 AC856".
Yes, the YQ will be painful. It's usually a bit less if you can manage to find availability from DUB (and you'd save on the APD too if you start from DUB).
