It is easy to spot the discount in Europe. It's right on the contract.

Also, watch out regarding the use of codes in the US on weekends. Actually avis.com corrects it for you. I was renting in LAX with a very good USD 19.99 rate per day. Since there are no surcharges (off airport property?) in LAX, rentals are remarkbly cheap. However, the normal rate was actually 17.99, so the net amount with tax was around 20. On my contract the D005927 is not there and it was replaced by A888813. This might be the National Motorists Assoc code that I think I originally used when I registered with Avis Preferred. If not then I am curious how it appeared.......

Do i need some sort of id to use the D005927 code ? Organisation ?

Thanks

I just booked a week long rental in Auckland, NZ using the D086533 code, and saved almost 20%. Without any code the price quoted was 302.00 NZD, but using this code the rate went down to 243.00 NZD. That is the base rate, prior to taxes and surcharges.

I don't understand why people on this board keep trying to use these codes that will cause them major embarassment, or in this case, much worse. It's just not worth it for a few extra bucks. Find a code or two that gives you a consistantly good rate with no restrictions (my favorite is L093590) and just stick with it.

I used this code in Germany in October with no problems, there was no request for any Amateur Sports Advancement Program documentation. Got a very good rate. No one else has reported any issues with this AWD either.

Wait a minute guys, I think we're confusing these codes?!

D005297 = Amateur Sports Assistance Program ***NEW***

D005927 = I have no idea but it seems to get better rates! This is the one themicah and some others used for a great discount, and I've got a few rentals booked with it, thinking it was the Amateur Sports Assistance Program rate. But reviewing this thread it seems people have gotten the two confused. I've searched this thread and can't find what D005927 is.

Can anyone shed any light on this? D005927 has come out a LOT cheaper than D005297 on the rentals I've looked at, but I'd just like to know how I should answer any questions about the rate, and now I'm not sure that the comments that tell me "not to worry" are actually about this rate.

Avis

Do anybody have any discount code for Puerto Rico? I really need one as soon as possible. I tried several of the one above but did not work. All the code are seven digits but the Avis website only required 6. Which digit do you drop first or last one?

Are you sure you're not trying to put the discount code into the Wizard Number field? The Wizard Number is six characters. The seven-character discount code (usually a letter followed by six numbers) goes into the "Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD):" field.

I have a 5 day rental for ogg in late January. I was wondering if there were any free day coupons floating around I could use.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Getting a great rate with D005927 - can someone confirm this is ok to use? Amateur sports assistance program? ID required?

eastwest Nov 30, 2005 3:16 am

it'll be fine ravan. :D

dinise Dec 1, 2005 12:24 pm

I asked an avis res agent where do you get the free tank of gas coupons. And she said it came from travel company called travellers advantage or something like that. Anyone have any idea what it is?

Just working on getting a rental (full size, Conformadore) for the parents in CHC for a 10 day stint.

Using Amex Centurion P469100 (AWD that came with Presidents Circle?) NZ$665.20

D086533 NZ$531.12
L093590 NZ$659.13
D005291 NZ$531.12
D005927 NZ$531.12

When I was logged in, warning told me that the AWD entered was not approved for my Wizard Number. Choice was between PC (two class upgrade) perks or the lower AWD rate.

I was unaware that Wizard numbers tracked what AWD's were allowed on a profile? Is this an Australia thing or system wide?

Be interested as to what firm was so far under the majors in CHC.

Cheers

It's systemwide. My Wizard Number, for example, permits me to use the AOPA A451300 and Amateur Sports Assistance Program D005297 AWDs (with great rates for the latter and upgrades allowed for my Preferred Select status). When signed in to the Avis site with my Wizard Number, I cannot book using several other AWDs such as Citigroup A074800.

any problem with using the AOPA codes A451300 and A451348 i just booked with the latter A451348 (because it was on their website) gave me a rate that's over $40 in savings off a weekly rental rate..... can anybody verify these, i wouldnt imagine they'd be an issue, i just dont wanna look like a moron when i cant find my aopa card :p

Just to report back - used code D005297 twice in Germany, approximately 40% off, no questions asked!

BTW, the reservation stated "Rate code:1G". Does anybody know what that means?

srussell1981 Dec 8, 2005 2:24 am

Anyone know a good code to use to avoid the underage surcharge in NY. I am 24 and find it ridiculous that because I'm 6 months short of 25 they want to charge me almost double. Any AWD #s I can use to avoid this? My rental is at BUF 13DEC05-3JAN06 looking for standard thru premium size if the price is right.

gleff Dec 8, 2005 4:45 am

Don't all corporate AWD #s waive under 25 fees? I know mine does. Feel free to PM me for the # if you'd like.

What is D086533??? This just gave me a fabulous discount on a rental in Rome??

I recently had a trip to SJC and used code A153710 as the AWD with ZW as the rate code.
I noticed that this was listed here before as possibly a corporate code and sure enough, when I made the reservation online using that code, the rate type listed it as 'corporate', so I made a regular ent.book reservation just in case.

The rates were almost identical,(about $55 for 3 days),though the A153710 was for a premium car while the other was for a full size car.

When I walked up to the counter, the gentleman mentioned I had the 2 reservations listed.
I told him I wanted the one with the premium size car and he processed it for me without any questions asked.

Just used the D005297 code and saved $80 on a 6 days rental at PHL international airport! ^

Thanks for posting that code! :)

I have just used D005927 for a rental in SYD and given me a great rate too! I see it was using U6 as the Rate Code and the system said it would not accept it but resubmitted and it went through! Woo hoo!

Bump again... the last two posts are examples of how there are two codes with similar numbers that people seem to be mixing up. Since I'm using D005927 in a week or two I'd really like to know what it's for.

awesome!

how do you get this?

I tried the amateur sports code, and it ROCKED for an upcoming stay in Florida, literally a 60% discount from CRAZY rates.

Has anyone had experience with being asked for backup info?

Best code for Orlando?

Is Orlando particularly difficult to rent from? I never rent there. It seems that every coupon code I enter (free days, free weekend, upgrade, etc) is blacked out in Orlando. I tried many codes including the Amateur Sports and nothing seems to be any better than my regular favorite code (L093590). I'm renting in MCO from 1/8-1/17 and the best rate I get for a full size is $253 (L093590). Every coupon I tried gets rejected. I thought that Florida was very competitive and that I could do much better trying other codes, but it does not appear to be the case. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

I found this AVIS document online by entering "AWD C682300" into google.

http://tinyurl.com/af3rc

The PDF lists the AWD’s for almost every airline FF and hotel program. Turns out C682300 is Air Canada's Aeroplan basic. I tried using C144800 which is Air Canada Super Elite, which I have, and the discount worked out exactly the same. Helpful document

report

So, just a quick report.
Used the ASAP code in FLL over the holiday, the xmas holiday which means $$$

From all car companies, I was looking at 550$ all in, with taxes and fees. I was able to get a rate of 469$ all in with AVIS for some randon AAA code.

but, the ASAP brought it down to 231$ all in!!! Can you f.in belive that!

Saved me more than 300$ for the week.
Did preferred pickup, no questions.
had to return the FIRST car to PBI since the AC didn't work. No questions.
Dropped it off, no questions.

Worked like a charm.

Here's one specifically for Florida travel:
K199060

Comes from a major Florida tourism organization and can be used by anyone.

Saved more than every code I've seen here so far.

Thanks but it came out higher than L093590. ASAP code came out the same as the L code, but the L code has the free LDW insurance cap of $3k which makes it the best deal (for me anyway). I just thought that since Florida was so competitive, I might find a better rate somehow.

Renting : MCO 1/8-1/17
Full Size
K199060 - 256.73
L093590 - 253.70 w/ free LDW
ASAP - 253.60

Wow.. while I was typing this reply, I tried a couple more codes just for the heck of it. I can't believe it... but the Costco code beat all the others with a rate of $230.79. I don't think we'll ever figure out how these discount codes really work. In any case, for me the free LDW is worth the extra $23, and I'm going to stick with L093590. (unless I come up with a code that gets me below $200)

TrayflowInUK Jan 3, 2006 4:15 am

Just got done w/ one-way rental Nevada to California. Used D005297 (ASAP), no questions asked or problems encountered.

reliable Avis discount code

Code V531165 (Gabrielle, Inc.) helped me secure a great rate at on a weekly rental in Austin at avis.com
