Probably nothing new but recent AWD codes from Costco Travel bookings

Going through this thread, I see T757205 listed as a MasterCard discount code, but I got it off of the PerksAtWork website - can anyone confirm which one it is? Am seeing a small discount when trying to book a car at Manchester airport for next week, but don't want to use it and then find out I can't pay with Amex!
I also have seen D134100 via another internal corporate site, but it appears to be for RetailPerks. For both RetailPerks and PerksAtWork, theres no membership card or anything, just a link to the Avis website and the AWD to use so no idea how one is supposed to prove to Avis that they are eligible, unless Avis want to watch them logging in to websites? |
Hi all,
I was trying to use a code (which I am eligible) but now I get the following message - seems to be something new in 2025? "This is a restricted Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) code, which cannot be used on the website." Cheers! |
Hi All,
I have a question and curious if any folks have advice. I have an AWD code from a previous employer that I have continued to use. I'm less concerned about verification issues and more curious about CDW and insurance issues. Nothing has ever happened, but I certainly want to avoid a bigger problem later. Whenever using this AWD code, I have been declining the rental car coverage and using my own personal credit card that offers rental coverage. I am also a US resident and have a comprehensive car insurance policy. I do not see any built in coverage with this code like reduced deductible, etc. From this thread, I have learned that if something happens and the rental involves an AWD code that cannot be verified there could be an issue with claims. Is it still an issue to use an old AWD code if I have declined the rental car coverage and am just planning to rely on my credit card or my own insurance? Thank you |
Hi GeoHurst33 -- did you ever get any responses about this or more information? I *think* my old companies AWD code does not include insurance, so wondering if I can continue to use it and just rely on credit card insurance?

Codes for general use?
I know in the past there have been codes posted that do not need verification that one works for a certain company. I don't remember exactly how or why that worked but apparently given to their customers and not just employees?? Anyone have one of those to use?

What are the base rates you guys get on your corporate codes?
Mine are: 1. $41.50/day for National 2. $27.25/day for Avis 3. $34.40 for Hertz (but books into Chevrolet Bolt EUV or similar) |

I just used the AWD code A017600 for my Avis rental and received a 50% discount compared to regular prices.
However, I couldn't find much information about this code. I came across a 2019 forum post that mentioned it might be from "VOLKSWAGEN GR BUILD UP" and surprisingly, it still works. Here are the details of my reservation: 14 days rental (January, Florida) Regular price: USD 2,130 AWD A017600: USD 1,050 Insurance included Interestingly, after completing the reservation, the AWD code on my receipt changed from A017600 to L298400, and I no longer see the original AWD code listed. Does anyone have more insight into AWD A017600? Is it a corporate or publicly accessible code? Some posts claim it’s a Costco Executive Member AWD for Avis, but that doesn’t seem correct. I believe that one is for Budget, on the Avis booking page, there’s no indication of such a restriction for this code. IThanks in advance! |
On the last 2 reservations using an AWD code, it gives me a generic "multiple errors" on the final reserve page if I do a regular pay later. I've tried app, and calling customer service (useless).
The only way I can get it to work is to actually prepay for the reservation which stinks. Anybody else having issues lately? |

Guess you can always claim you mistakenly used it at Avis because you thought they were the same company (they are). But I'd be very leery of the included insurance. If you get into an accident and they figured out you weren't eligible to use the code, you might be screwed. |

This would seem to confirm that this is a Budget Costco BCD: https://www.costco.ca/wcsstore/Costc...vices_E_LR.pdf

Insurance love digging through the fine print, and if anything happens, they’ll probably look for any reason to deny a claim. |

Thanks for the heads-up. I’m a Costco Executive Member, so I might give it a shot, but I know it’s a bit of a gamble.

Any good codes for South Africa?
I have used codes from this thread many times but the most recent was five years ago and that code is no longer useful. Thanks! |
