Avis Discount Codes - Put AWD codes in this thread only

Why do they keep eliminating this thread? Do we start another?

Well.. I guess I'll start it off. My most reliable for consistantly low rates, unlimited miles, free LDW, and no hassle is still L093590.

MisterX Aug 10, 2004 11:20 pm

L093590

Whose code is this?

rkt10 Aug 10, 2004 11:36 pm

whatever it is, in a test it knocked off about $10 on their rate-quoter.

Do you have to show a Costco card at checkin?

You must have had the Corporate Rate checked. Always checks rates with the " Check Lowest Rate" circle checked. Otherwise you'll get the high rate that you got.

It's just a very reliable, safe code that gets used by a lot of people here. It gives a consistantly very low rate, and unlike a lot of the other "risky" codes here, I have never seen a single post about anyone having any hassle with this code. Costco's good too..but I find L093590 to be the best.

But do you need some sort of coupon to confirm your right to use L093590?

If not, I have a Century 21 code that I have the right to give out. It's a bit detailed to get to (you have to create a sign-on on Century 21's site... although you won't be contacted by them if you don't want). But it's a legitimate coupon that you can download.

Nothing needed to use this code. No coupons, no I.D. I've probably used this code 300 - 400 times. Never been asked ANY questions.

AWD C280613 saved me last weekend over $ 30.00

with Coupon # TUBA002 I received on top of the discount the third
weekend day free. If you would like a copy of the coupon e-mail
[email protected] and I will e-mail it to you. (I dont know how to attach it to this posting) I have two different coupons good untill Dec 31, 2004

dannyr Aug 15, 2004 8:25 pm

I used these for my rental this weekend - saved $30

http://www.jetstar.com.au/travelSvcs/carRental/

"Rent a Group X (e.g. Hyundai Getz) in Australia, for a minimum 3 days between the 1st August and the 30th September 2004. You can drive away for as little as $35 a day^^ including GST and unlimited kilometres in metropolitan areas. (200km free per day in country areas and 100km free per day in remote areas. Excess kilometres are charged at 27.5c per km). Please quote rate code 14. "

And also "Avis is offering customers who rent before 31 August 2004 a free one class upgrade to a maximum Group E (Holden Commodore). Simply book through this site and request your free upgrade on arrival at the airport. Upgrades are subject to availability – see full terms and conditions. " which is AWD - P469101

Also, I got the chance to talk to Avis on the phone today and was talking to a girl there who was overly helpful. I had a code that was only for US/Canada rentals, and she had a look and said "Oh, that's cheap. Hang on I'll match that with one for Australia" and matched it. Not sure if that's legal/common practice, but she knew what codes were out there and was able to see what the codes were I was using.

Can anyone tell me whos corporate code B999000 is? Good rates...just in case they ask at the desk want to know whos it is. Thanks for the assist.

cattle Aug 16, 2004 7:50 pm

Don't use it. You will be looking for trouble and by all accounts you will be asked for Avis Employee ID and then denied the code and put in at a much higher rate. Use something else for your own good :)

seoulmanjr Aug 18, 2004 12:55 pm

For the Delta Skymiles and/or AA discount codes you posted, will I need to show a freq flyer membership card or something? I haven't carried a membership card in years except for when I have elite status, so I wouldn't have the foggiest clue where I'd find mine.

It'll only save me a whole 2.5% on my rental over my corporate rate, so I guess I don't care either way, but its always nice to save $3.

peace,
~Ben~

That code is nothing but trouble. It's constantly mentioned on here and I have yet to read anyone who has ever gotten those rates. Tons of stories of people who got denied though.

Appropriate Use of Avis Codes Yielded Best Rate

FWIW, this is slightly off-topic from the other posts in this thread regarding AVIS codes but I thought I'd mention it just the same. We used legitimate sources for AVIS discount codes through 3 different organizations we are associated with. It was interesting how each code's rate improved from the prior code. For those who possess more than one AVIS discount code, each discount has a different value. Check each code against your travel itinerary and car class to be sure the code is still redeemable (not expired) and compare rates with any other discount code(s) you may have.

Has anyone had any problems using the Avis Employee Discount code in the Caribbean? Will I get asked for my employee ID??? (A153700)

Any idea what P400000 is, it also saves a substantial amount in the Caribbean?

Thanks!

more specifically-- Im going to Grenada. I also want to make sure I get an automatic car, it says so on Travelocity, but just want to make sure they exist.

Either that or a letter from your manager. Don't do it!

SkyTeam777 Aug 26, 2004 2:30 pm

any idea what P400000 is????? I don't think it is an employee code.

another code to try

I just tried B149870 in Hawaii in Jan/Feb. Lowest rate I've seen so far for a full size, 182 plus tax. Does as well as Costco for a convertible but it's still 282 plus tax.

This code is from Endless Vacation magazine/RCI.

I have tried almost every code on this thread for a convertable in Oahu. This one was the cheapest by $50 giving me wed thru sat 4pm for $235.00
Thanks for the valuable info!

IME, and also according to MartinElk's useful post above, K860600 Starwood Preferred Guest works really well in Hawai'i.

Any ID needed for the Amateur Sports Assistance Program code?

IS any coupon or ID required to use the following codes?

D002807 Amateur Sports Assistance Program ***Expired***
D005297 Amateur Sports Assistance Program ***NEW***

The NEW code gives me very nice price in FLL. Anybody has experience with either the Expired or the NEW code?

jar Sep 27, 2004 9:43 pm

Here are three weekend codes that seem to work:

Coupon # - Rental days - $off
MUGG247 - 2 days - $10
MUGG248 - 3 days - $15
MUGG249 - 4 days - $20

Uh-oh, I was doing a couple of bookings here and the D086533 and L093590 (my intl and domestic, respectively, favorites) appeared to have no effect. I checked the former for a rental at MUC in late October and it had no effect! I got some reduction using another code. Quick math shows a 30% discount..... D086533 used to give 40% in Europe.

I got an email last week from a WSJ journalist who asked me about the Marshall Code (D086533). I asked her not to write about it..... Did anyone read last Friday's WSJ or still have a copy? Curse and damnation on her if she caused this......

nldogbert Sep 28, 2004 5:02 am

Hi!

Hmm.. I do hope that the code is still ok and not "leaked" by that journalist. Anyway, I just used it yesterday to reserve a car in Spain via the Avis Belgium website and I got the discount. However, when I tried booking the same car using the same info, on the Avis Spain website, it did not work.. so, what I am guessing is that it works for certain websites. I have also tried it via the Avis Netherlands website, and it seems to work. Maybe you could try playing around with the different websites? Just my 2cents.

:)

I made 2 reservations today with L093590 and it was still working fine. But I'll be watching it very close. Thanks for the info.

gnaget Sep 28, 2004 2:13 pm

Really? My domestic reservation was local midweek, non-airport from FC9. No difference if I add the L code or not.

Have to find the WSJ from Friday...........

Yeah, I tried it again yesterday (ur today re quote). And it did work again for a rental here in Belgium. Maybe they could have removed it from the US websites (??).

Well, again, I do hope that it is just some computer glich that is causing this on the US website. Or else, it is a really sad if this code is gone.

I am finding that the MSB code is no longer working im Europe too. Thankfully I have a few confirmed reservations with the old rate.

Will they honor the confirmed rates?

I do hope that they will honor the confirmed rates as I do also have a few adv. reservations.
Anyway, any update on this? Cause for me, I still am seeing here on the avis.be websites that the code is still ok. I just tried a pseudo quote yesterday and it was working fine. I am really curious.

Thanks.
