hey,
I will be in los angles at 3-16. september, I am 22 years old, and need to rent a car from avis (or others car rentals), Do you have anybody some function AWD code with underage fee and without id check ? |
We can give you one with no underage fee, but ID check? Good luck (doubly so at LAX - see above)

#1 benefit is to bypass the counter and head to your car, turn on ignition, drive to exit, show DL and leave. Think of how many hours you waste standing in line at the counter and then waiting for the agent to complete the rental agreement. With a Preferred account, you avoid all of that.

wow, this code is the best. please let us know if we are supposed to provide company name or something. i am combining this with platinum upgrade coupon, and this is the best rate i have seen.

Any recent experiences using the Citi Travel code at LAX?
The A0764800 is a flat rate code it so seems. Only slightly more than the Bombardier code. Used it locally several times incl MIA no problem. Would like to hear experiences at LAX which seems to become more watchful now.

you are right. I made a typo. Good to know it works at LAX. There is a Budget BCD gives similar rate but I could not find the origin of the Budget Code so would stick with the Avis Citi Leisure Travel instead, although the Budget location would be more convenient upon returning the car as our hotel is Crowne Plaza, just around the corner across street from Budget, while Avis is like 1/3 mile north.

Caution! There is at least one post in this thread #3820 of an FTer who was denied at LAX in March 2016, around the same time as my last successful rental there. I have never been questioned using this code. If it ever comes up I do have Citi accounts of various sorts. I probably even got the code from Citi in the first place, although I really don't remember.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/26331618-post3820.html We also have Citi accounts but the rental would be tied to AMEX card. Code is used in MIX and local location multiple times between Apr and June. No question. Seems LAX is the diligent one. Thanks for heads up. |
Hi all
Thank you for the great tips and codes. However I am having a bit of difficulty searching for rentals in either milan or rome. Does anyone recommend a particular awd (and acceptable coupon code that can be used in conjunction with the awd?) Thank you kindly. |
Did anyone had luck with using any of those counts to shave off the underage fee?
I'm Preferred Plus and using City Leisure Travel code, renting trough Avis turns out slightly cheaper than the Alamo I've had booked before. I'd much rather use Avis, since I could skip most of the formalities and get an upgrade (though I dunno what would an upgrade from Mustang Convertible look like at Avis), but not if there's significant risk of getting hit with young driver surcharge. (I've seen the mention of problems at LAX, I'd be renting at MIA). |

Avis site vs Chase Travel Portal
Has anyone had experience with the Chase portal as to the true cost? I am getting some the same rental $20 cheaper on the portal, which supposedly includes charges. The Avid site specs everything but I'm a little worried about the true Chase booking cost.

i want to get the maserati ghibli tomorrow at LAX for an event i'm attending sunday. is the best route to book a full size with the best code i can find and pre-pay and just bargain at pick up for the lowest upgrade cost at preferred desk. i know i've been quoted 75 or 100 per day to upgrade to mercedes c63 amg... i've read some places avis won't let the ghibli go for less than 250 per day. anyone know?

Hi all, thanks for sharing the code, it helps me save tremendously on a 2-day rental. Just have a quick question, my credit card is not expired but I keep getting this message:
“NOTE: The credit card information on your My Avis account has expired. You will need to stop at the rental counter. Or to ensure that you receive Avis Preferred, please call 800-230-4898. Select Option #2 and explain that you have received this message and will need your reservation modified. You will also need to update your profile by providing new credit card information and can do so by calling 866-842-5552 or logging in to your My Avis account.” Does this have something to do with the code that I use (C062090)? I am wondering if the code requires a linked corporate credit card? Thank you in advance. :) |
Data point: Used E888804 on one of my previous rentals, worked like a charm!
FYI, it is for Hon circle but shows as "weekend special" on most of the GDS |

I keep getting this error when I select a car " The rate code you entered requires an Avis World Wide Discount (AWD) number. Please go back and enter your AWD number or remove the rate code you entered." |
So I was the person who was denied at LAX for B270898 earlier this year. This time, I'm using A515100 and trying again (on a similarly unusual one way, but out of a different location). Will keep everyone posted.
BTW - B270898 worked for me as well and was the same price as the above. |

Thanks - the worst they can do is say no, right? I have plenty of backup options arranged.

Would anybody advise on the best code to use for 10 days one-way Munich to Vienna in January 2017?

Does anyone have a good code for Dublin for 13 days? Also, does Avis charge extra for going into Northern Ireland? Thx. The codes that I keep trying appear not to work in Ireland for some reason... tried Costco, Hilton, several others.

I used A515100 for a Dublin hire and have noticed that the following are included:
Airport/city surcharge Local Tax Vehicle Registration Fee Liability Insurance Unlimited Mileage Does this mean I would be responsible for 100% cost for collision damage and theft? UPDATE: Called Avis and they confirmed CDW and TP not included, even though it said they were during the purchasing process. Had to cancel, bit too much of a risk. Anyone know codes that include CDW and TP? If I still had my Amex Platinum would have been fine. |

The rate code you entered requires an Avis World Wide Discount (AWD) number. Please go back and enter your AWD number or remove the rate code you entered. I have no other AWD, coupon, or rate code entered. Any tips on how to deal with this? |
