Need a 2 week rental from SFO next month.

Good rate on A515100 which I believe is a HP corp code then slightly higher rate for A074800 (citi). Wondering if the citi one is lesser risk and I can play dumb and tell them I got the code from Citi TYP portal? :)

the rates with your quote are great. What proof could they ask for?

Sorry for the delay I do not believe they ask for any proof. If they do ask for anything I can provide it.

Hello. Need assistance for best pricing. Looking to rent from Addison TX AVIS 5.10 to 5.15 and would prefer mini van. Can anyone help beat pricing of $212?

Chuvash May 8, 2017 2:07 pm

1 Attachment(s)
Quite specific but useful for those planning an Australian West Coast road trip Broome to Perth
Switching your country of residence to an Asia/Pacific (exclu Oz and NZ) country gets the price down from $ 2.5K to ~$ 600.

I need to pickup a car at Union Station, Chicago and drop off at ORD. Is there AVIS (or any other rental) location nearby Union station?

Well your in luck - There is an Avis in the Greyhound station which is in Union station. But one ways can be pricey. But that is where luck might be in your favor again. When they were negotiating rates they said there is a special code for 1 way rentals. Which day? I'll call in and get a price for a Wednesday Full size just as an idea.

Looking for a code to book a small car in Italy (Napels to Florence, 12 days) in August. Tried some of the codes of ReallyNotFrequentFlyer of the 25 Feb post, and some give 50% discounts, however on more recent posts I read that these could be company specific codes that do not provide any coverage in case of an accident?

Codes No Longer Giving Good Deals?

For years, I've used G930700 (IBM) with great success for rentals in Manhattan (non-airport locations). But for my latest Manhattan rental, the rate coming up has almost quadrupled when inputting this code.

I also tried using some other codes that I have, and while not as good as the IBM code, they still provided some decent rates. But I'm getting similar results now using these well--i.e., much higher rates than what these codes use to give.

I tried other dates as well.

Wondering if anyone else is having the same experience of codes no longer giving the same low rates they used to?

Guess all good things must come to an end.

cesc May 25, 2017 9:57 am

I have seen that with JFK and a few other airport locations where usage of corporate codes is in fact increasing rates. First saw it a few months ago.

Hi - I'm looking to rent a mid size/estate vehicle from Barcelona at the beginning of August and return to Alicante at the end of August.

I've tried a few of the codes on here and I must admit I'm tempted but don't want to risk:
- Being challenged at counter
- Voiding any insurance

Are there any good public codes I could use to avoid the risk?

Thanks for your help

richarddd May 26, 2017 9:04 am

I've been using Autoslash recently and have found them at least as good as trying codes on my own. A few times results seemed a bit odd, but their customer service has been helpful. Certainly worth trying.

I have no connection with them other than as a user.

I am looking for a AVIS code for a one way rental from PDX to SEA 5/30-5/31. The best I can do is $85. Any code to make this better? I'm weary of using the IBM code. But, it brings it down significantly to $33.50.

In need of a van or premium SUV rental code for a 10 day rental.

Our great, great grand daughter is due in 2 weeks. We live 8 hours away and have a car load of stuff for the parents and baby (crib, home portable AC to keep everyone cool, bedding, clothing, etc) Thank you for helping us.

Need an intermediate or higher car at KOA airport 8/26-9/4 (pick up and drop off at 2pm). Best I could do was $333 with taxes - any ideas on a code/coupon combo to drop it even more? Thank You!

That's a great rate. Not sure you will find any lower, but rates could drop as the pickup date approaches. It's worth continuing to check or tracking the rental.

Makes me feel good hearing that from AutoSlash! I always search with AutoSlash first but then check against my company's AWD as that is sometimes better. First thing I did was track it so hoping the price drops before we arrive!

Hi. Looking to rent a one-way.

Really feel like giving Deloitte code a try - shows good rate and unlim. milage.
Doesn't say anything about LDW/CDW. Would I be ok using my Visa insurance with this code?

kirimcd Jun 7, 2017 10:55 am

Planning to spend a couple of months in southern Italy to visit some family, and looking for a good deal on a 5 doors. No particular rental group required, but would like to try to get access to a monthly rental with SCDW inclusive ;)

AWD A515100 is returning some discounted fares :o but not based on a pay-per-month deal.

Any cracking deal :-: you could point me to?

Has someone used this B204400 (Visa holders) code to waive underage fee?

I cannot make this AWD stick in the profile? Basic Preferred member.

Current profile has no AWD at all but when making reservation it pops up an AWD not recognized.
Add the E88804 in the profile which said successfully changed. BUT it would not stick when try the reservation again.

Any idea other than reserve it without Preferred account?

I cannot even use HHonor's AWD which is a public one to begin with.

Right here, just a few days ago, AutoSlash reported it is "only for employees of Hewlett Packard Corp."

Hi All!

I had removed an AWD that I had from a professional association that I belong to from my profile (as AVIS.com would use that even when I manually entered Costco for example) and it has been blank for a few years now, this morning I logged into my account to search for a car and found an AWD in my account that I did not add.

The AWD is: D486600

I have no idea what it is and a Google search returned nothing.

I did not add it my account and to my knowledge nobody added it for me, I checked with my Wife and that is not the AWD her employer uses, so I am completely stumped.

I found that one in my husband's account too. Seems unable to remove it, However I was able to use a Hilton Honors code.

I cannot get the same rates if it is booked under Preferred even with 100% legitimate AWDs.

Using the American Airlines code for Avis and booking thru its own link (and a much more information website than the new Avis US), I got the rate for a South Africa rental the same rate as the "prepay" rate when it would be booked directly on either Avis US or Avis Canada.

Booked thru the AA portal, then called Avis to add the Qatar flight number as Avis does not list QR in the drop down menu for the Arrival airline info and it wont let me add QRxxxx without giving errors. It only accepts xxxx but then nobody would know WHICH airline it is!

There is also no place on AA portal to add Wizard number.

The rate did not change after adding the rep add QR info.

Then asked the rep to add the Wizard number, the reservation then repriced! It changed to the Pay at the Counter rate, versus the AA portal's lower rate, about 10% difference!

On a domestic rental, I could not get the same rate with the Citi Travel AWD if logged in, even though the profile AWD is blank. It also does not allow me to update the profile with the Citi Travel AWD.

I am very tempted just to just book OUTSIDE Avis Preferred as we do not earn Avis Preferred points, we much prefer to earn airline miles.

Anybody has such experiences in booking outside Preferred has much cheaper rates?

I think its the code that goes with this link, but I cant seem to get it to work w/o going through that portal on the site. pretty nice discount too! 30% off prepay and another 20$ off using visa check out...chops the prices down at the airport with all that tax!

P786700 - New South Wales Government rate - No ID required

I put this code in for a rental in Proserpine today, but the online reservation isn't showing any reductions⁉️🤔

Was there any kind of check for IBM id? I am trying to book for my wife and rates are significantly lower, but dont want to have any issues as she can't handle situations like that.

Hi folks,

I am trying to rent a full-size van for 5 days, round trip.

Dates: 7/19 - 7/24
Location: ORF (Norfolk Int'l Airport)
Class: Full Size Van (12 or 15 pass)
Codes tried:
A113400 L093590
a108373 L149332
K817100 L237904
a108393
A686200
G930700

And several others. Can't get "pay at counter price" to go below $1200. A couple weeks ago I saw it for $325, but colleague told me not to book it. Rawr. Any chance this price will go down at all? Maybe the $900 range? I saw a "pay now" price of $850, is that the best it'll get?

Thanks so much for your help!
