I am looking at a 30 day rental in France next spring. I went through the list of AWD provided in this thread, and I noticed that one code O37716.8 offers a crazy deal (50% off, with theft protection!, more mileage). It is even better than the AVIS employee code...
Limited information about this code. Is it safe to use it?

Thanks,

Does anyone here have any experience with this code? I saw that someone using a Florida employee code was double charged and want to make sure that this isn't something like that. TYIA

Thanks,

This code is for ENI group SAIPEM, defo corporate rate and most probably ID required.
Use N744400 on the irish website, much safer this way and unlimited mileage :)

Any AWD for NZ

Hi

I'm traveling to NZ mid dec and plan to rent a car for a week.
I used the below AWD, wanted to check, if there is a better codes for NZ, out there.. :D

E153702 - Gets you great rate (50%). But going through the earlier post.. It seems this a AVIS employee code, can potentially be an issue ( As noted recently in SYD and AKL)

A442100 - Not the best, gets you (25%).

Thanks

Hitachi affiliation. ID is sometimes requested. A business card (yours, not someone else's) or letterhead with your name somewhere in the document is adequate.

Good rate, BUT no miles included. 30¢ a mile, every mile.

Thought I'd give an update on my rental. The Club Carlson code of course wasnt an issue. They didnt even ask for my membership card.
Rented and was give a A6 Avant 3.0TDI in Germany for 11 days at EUR510.00.

With the EUR100 vouchers I received from Avis for a full tank return rip-off matter last year in AMS (different post in the Avis thread) that came down to EUR410.00. - Unlimited Mileage and I drove the car for 2100km.
So in the end a happy camper...

Hello everyone...Greetings from Argentina
I'm new on this forum, so, I'm not sure if the answer to my question is on a previous post, but here it goes:
I have been surfing the web, and after a HUGE research, found several REAL GOOD avis discount codes...I'll be renting next month in Miami (Florida), and Orlando (Florida), and the difference between these codes and all the others, is huge (sometimes more than 70% off)...Since I only found the codes, without any other information, I need to know if anybody here has already used them, and if an ID is requested at counter, or any other specific requirement (believe me, the discounts are big)
Here are the codes:
A074800
A191009
A442100
A972200
B270898
B449700
B999000
(THIS IS THE BEST OF THEM ALL)
C066983
G417900
O377168
X602000

Thanks in advance...Any help will be appreciated

These are those that I know and have used regularly. The rest I'm sure can be found somewhere using Google. Probably doesn't help that the Avis I use the most is a neighborhood franchise, but I've never run into an ID issue.
A074800 - Citigroup
A442100 - Deloitte & Touche
A972200 - Farmer's
B270898 - Costco
G417900 - Kellwood Corp

The B999000 is an Avis employee discount. Prob not a good idea to use that one....

If you don't want to bend the rules a bit, and only use the organizations that you are a member of, I believe your only option is to contact each of those organizations and ask if they have a negotiated discount program for their members.

Which offers a better discount in Canada?

Costco BCD or SPG's?

SPG says they give 35% discount but I can't find anything on Costco..

Thanks

No matter which code I use, I can't get a rate as low as I got it via www.avis.pl. Renting a car in Jamaica in December, 7 days. Hope everything goes smooth - not the usual problems with AVIS

Hi all

Keen to book a convertible from 30 October to 9 November from LAX. Best rate I can get us AUD 874 (including taxes charges).

Using the below. Any tips? I would like to see if I can get this under AUD 600 , if possible. (I am an Australian resident).

AWD: J046300
COUPON: MUWA169-34.83 25USD Off Weekly Rental/Paperless Coupon

I'm an Avis Preferred member looking to book through Avis uk or Avis Ireland. I have hhhonors, Costco and American Express cards. Does anyone have any idea of the best one to use?

B270898

B270898 gives me a 7 day rental in hawaii for $143 (plus fees) vs a costco coupon that gives me the same rental for $380.

I cant find anything about that awd code...anyone?

travelperks Oct 16, 2015 1:38 pm

The AAA B900000 never gives me any issues and is a reliable go to.

marcoh Oct 16, 2015 1:49 pm

B900000 comes to $384 for 7 days on O'ahu. The aforementioned B270898 comes to $143. Just do not have any details on that code. what corporation, why so cheap, will proof of eligibility be required since it's such a steep discount.

yes, and there is nothing. someone said costco once, but that does not seem right...but thanks for the 'tip'.

E027237

Update on code E027237:
It seems that ID checks are more frequently in place for this code, friend of mine got caught in Italy last month and had to haggle his way to avoid paying full price.
Use it at your own risk

New L093590 Question

I've been using the L093590 AWD in Europe as it gets the best rates. Lately I've noticed that when the reservation is complete it changes to K444414.

I know that L093590 is supposed to be Kellwood but I can't find anything on the net giving me a clue as to where K444414 comes from. Anyone notice this and find out more info?

You can search this thread years back and you will see that the "L" code you are using was changed to G417900. Not sure why, maybe they negotiated a new contract or something. I used that old "L" code for many years and the G417900 replacement code is still my favorite. Consistently low rates and never a hassle. In my opinion, the risk if being asked for am ID or being turned away is not worth the risk with some of the other codes that may be a couple bucks cheaper.

I find this for Peregrine Systems Meetings

rate is half off Costco rate , I will give a try if they ask for ID, I will just cancel it and go for Alamo backup

seajay999 Nov 16, 2015 12:37 pm

I'm looking for a code to help get a one-way, 24-hour rental cost down in California.

This is to get to and from an airport that is located about 2 hours from where I live. I do one 1-way rental to get to the airport, and another 1-way rental to get back home from the airport about 2 weeks later every year when I fly home for Christmas.

The Avis/Budget rental office is located within close walking distance to my house. BUT they now consistently demand business cards or other ID showing affiliation from anybody using a corporate discount code or any code that gives a significant discount, and they will charge customers full price if they can't cough one up.

Coming back from the airport is not such a big deal as that branch has never questioned any code I've ever used there.

Last year I used a Costco code and I do have a Costco card so that was no problem but this year... the cheapest I can get the cost down to is about $84 + tax each way .... which is extremely expensive, even for a 1-way rental. Coming back from the airport... it's about $15 higher than what I've paid in past years (there's an airport fee). But the rental to the airport is usually "only" $40-ish, not $84.

Can anybody suggest an uncomplicated code that would help reduce the cost, that wouldn't give me insurmountable grief with my neighborhood Avis branch? I've got Costco and Entertainment, but they really aren't bringing the price down much.

m_l Nov 17, 2015 7:20 am

Hi there, is there any coupon or awd which gives me a discount on one-way rentals?
I'll drive from New Jersey to North Carolina - Rates are quite good but there's a 300$ One-Way fee. Any ideas?

wholelottamiles Nov 24, 2015 2:49 pm

Does anyone have experience with using a company's code and having a problem with the rental car? Say damage or theft? There might be some small print that might allow Avis to make life difficult should that happen and they run a check on whether you work for said company. Anecdotal information welcome.

OW no Mileage...?

I too am in need of a discount code that will not charge mileage on a OW. In US if anyone can help?

Appreciate it!

Anyone have trouble with AWD B270898? Avis says the rate code is MS.

I just booked this rate on the Avis site. I'm a Preferred member and will be picking up at MCO at 5 p.m. on 12/19.

I just called Avis and asked them if this code (B270898) was still valid and he said "Peregrine System Meetings Corp?" and I said yup. He said it was still valid and I asked whether I needed to bring my ID and he said the reservation system would tell him if that were necessary, but it did not. Up to you if you want to give it a go. On my upcoming Tampa rental, it is around $80 less than the lowest rate I found for 5 days in February.

Please let us know whether you had any issues if you decide to give it a whirl.

B999000 has been reported as a AVIS employee discount code requiring ID. If you decide to try it, have a backup on another rental.

You really do NOT want to call them and ask if a certain code is valid.

It only kills good codes because you just tipped them off.

Seems like if you select your residency to be Poland even in www.avis.com, you get rates that are way lower than anything else. Has anyone tried this when they actually have a US driver's license?

Different versions of the websites can yield different rates: the.co.uk has different rates compared to the .ie one (taking into account exchange rates)
even the .it, .de, .fr and . ie have discrepancies for the same car groups and dates.

Peregrine no longer exists. Back in 2003, the SEC charged them with fraud. They went through bankruptcy and were eventually acquired/absorbed by Hewlett-Packard in 2005. Given the fraud charges, I guess it's not a far stretch for someone to now use a fake ID to get an Avis discount under their name. :p

I'd argue that this is a code worth killing--it associates FTers with a company which no longer exists and which exited the scene under dubious circumstances. I'd much rather be using valid codes from valid companies, so I can at least argue my case at the counter in being "associated with" said company in some way. How can Long Islander (or anyone) deny attempted fraud when standing at the Avis counter using this particular code?
