FAQ
Q: Where is the lounge?
A: Terminal 3, F concourse, right by Gate F2 (formerly gate 75) and the F-1 security checkpoint (that has PreCheck, sometimes).

Q: Can I visit there if I'm departing from another terminal?
A: Absolutely. Security at SFO will let passengers departing from any concourse at SFO go through security in any concourse, even ones that aren't connected behind security. At the moment, Terminal 3 concourses E and F, and International Terminal concourse G are connected airside to the Centurion lounge. Some other concourses are connected to each other airside, but not to the point that you can walk airside to the Centurion. However, with a PreCheck security lane right next to the entrance to the lounge, it can be quite easy to clear security twice if necessary.

Q: Can I visit if I'm arriving at SFO?
A: It depends. If you're arriving in the aforementioned concourses E, F, or G, then yes, but only if you have a connecting flight. If you're arriving in one of the other concourses, then security at SFO won't let you clear into E, F, or G without a boarding pass departing SFO that day. If you're arriving internationally, again, you'd need a same-day SFO departing boarding pass to clear security.

One of my relatives was hoping to visit today and was turned away by security stating that she needed a 'Terminal 3 Boarding Pass'(she was flying out of the A Gates). If what I mentioned above is correct, she would've been able to clear security and get to the lounge right? Unless something has changed in the past few weeks...
Was she turned away by the TSA or by the line dragon? I would guess it's the dragon out front who is simply there to allow people to access the line to clear. In this case they will usually let you in if you just say "I'm going to access the Centurion Lounge."

I popped in a few weeks ago with my daughter. What a nice lounge it is. We had to get moving to our gate, so we spent only five minutes or so in it.

The unfortunate thing for me is that I'll hardly ever occasion to spend much time in the SFO lounge. I prefer to show up as late as possible for my departing flights, and I go straight home after arrivals. I care more about Centurion Lounges at other major airports.

But enough about me. You non-locals connecting at SFO will love this lounge.

Ahh, maybe that is the case. She told me that the person (may as well be the dragon out front) asked a supervisor and said no. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the reply and clarification!

I couldn't find a mention of this in this thread, but here it does...

I'm arriving at SFO around 11am, and then departing that same night, about 13 hours later on the red-eye to DFW (leaves around 12:55am)...

So, does this count as a same-day ticket?? I figure, if people are entering security at say, 11:30pm, they would have to be allowed through... but would I be allowed to go through security after my arriving flight, using my departing flight's boarding pass, even though it's "technically" the next day....? .....but it's a red-eye...?

It's confusing yes...

That's a good question. I would reasonably guess that yes, you would be allowed in, however I've never really tried this. I'm not really sure what the official cutoff point is.

Surely you don't want to stay in the SFO terminal for 12 hours though!

I wouldn't anticipate it being an issue. If anyone raises an eyebrow, mention that you're going to the gate to standby for an earlier flight.

My second visit to the SFO lounge was a few days ago. The first time, I spent five minutes in there; this time it was about 15 minutes.

They had a very nice breakfast spread available. There were many people in the lounge, but it didn't feel crowded.

As I've said upthread, the unfortunate thing for me is that I prefer to cut things close when I show up for SFO (my home airport) departures. I will probably never make much use of this really nice lounge. For those of you connecting at SFO, however, this is a good place to spend your time.

Just the greatest lounge

The Pt Amex card is worth it for free meals and booze at this Club alone. Staff are wonderful. Food is fantastic. Wines great.

I now avoid routing through Denver. Always through SFO with long enough for a nice meal. And with delays there is plenty of time!!!

Is there a full food spread out even later in the evening or mid afternoon? I'm wondering what kind of food would be out around 8:30pm on a Sunday or 3pm on a Friday when I'd be passing through SFO. Would it be enough to make a meal out of?

There's definitely enough mid-afternoon.

If you're flying out of terminal 1 (international) on Alaska Airlines do you have to leave the secure area once you've checked in to get to the lounge and go back through security?

Alaska is currently in International-A, but it would be the same advice for you even if Alaska were in its former home of Terminal 1B: yes, you'll need to go landside and walk to Terminal 3 for access to the Centurion Lounge. And you'll need a valid boarding pass for a flight out of SFO (doesn't matter which terminal it departs from).

Yes.

Visiting the lounge and flying on Alaska Airlines operating out of "International A" will require an extra trip through security. Plan accordingly since it is not a short walk.

Can't you take the AirTrain? Not sure how much faster it would be, but I believe it should be an option.
