As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates
According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)
Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase.Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

So I guess another question to add to this. How many of you are Golds/75Ks cancelling back into your wallets vs MVPs/Nons cancelling back to your cards? I'm wondering if Amex is getting the cancellation data as well. There has to be a pattern to this.

The travel credit meter is accessed via the benefits/travel after logging in, right?
so it has not triggered from award fee last week.

If the small-fare trick is dead, you can still purchase a refundable fare w/ seat upgrade and the seat upgrade part should be reimbursed according to T&C. Then you can cancel the refundable fare and the full amount(fare+upgrade fee) will be returned to your credit card. See https://www.alaskaair.com/content/tr...preferred-plus

I'm MVP/Gold, so I'm able to use my Alaska wallet. My last 4 purchases (which included two independent seat selection purchases), completed in the past 6 weeks, all failed to trigger a reimbursement.
I expect those seat selection purchases will be manually reimbursed to me after the 30-day waiting period, but Amex has clearly tightened their system so much that almost nothing is getting credited back. Some people/purchases seem to be slipping through, but my experiences indicate that those are exceptions.

That's only 3 days ago. Give it some time, like at least a week or more and then please update us with your result.
To me it looks like there were big problems in August, but many people in September are seeing reimbursements, though some post here with exceptions to that. Hard to tell if a new pattern is emerging or not.

Just to close out my post from a week back, my $83.30 AS ticket charge from 9/14 has still not received a credit, and at this point I don't expect it to. I'm going to experiment with some other charges in the coming days to see if I can make heads or tails.

Wow...oddly enough it seems like the people who cancelled the tickets within the 24 window and got refunds actually had a higher rate of success on getting the credit.

Does any inflight internet work for this? Is there a gogo plan one can buy that might work on other airlines?
