Today for phl-dfw I'm number 8 on the list out of 44 for 1 seat, 350K LP's.
My last DFW based flight. :D FWIW my seat 11C (or row 11 for that matter) was probably the 2nd best thing to being up front in the 321. Hell, probably even better as the legroom is more than F in that plane. |
Why is AA so hush hush if you made the upgrade list on an International flight using miles and $$. My ticket was showing as unable to view. When I called they said it was an IT issue. IT said I got upgraded and ticket was pending reticketing. Agent refused to tell me the same info? What gives?

PP with 20K LP
Ord to Lga early on 4/23..three on record..other 2 are plt. All three upgraded at T -72. |
Gold
4/13 DCA-YYZ AA5667 Upgrade cleared about 3.5 hours before flight 4/16 YYZ-DCA AA5667 Upgrade cleared at 24 hours Probably the end of my upgrades for the year... |
I’m about 11 hours out from my flight. EF shows J0 but the waitlist shows 5 open seats (I’m 1 of 24 for now). What would cause the waitlist to show 5 open seats but J0 on EF (all buckets are 0)?

So the flight shows as J0 and you couldn't buy a business seat however there are really 5 seats open up front. So as #1 on the list you're all but guaranteed an upgrade in these situations. |

If all buckets are 0 then economy is most likely oversold, AA has just removed the remaining J inventory for sale (hence J0) to save room to accommodate the oversold Y cabin.

Platinum
DFW-PHX on 4/23 upgraded at window (48 hours before my first flight; this is the last leg). It’s a 7am flight on a Sunday so not all that surprising. |
This week:
DEL-HKG, Cathay Pacific 77W, Friday night, W-->J op-up. :D Lie-flat seat gave me a solid 4 hours of sleep on this 4.5 hour redeye which was sure appreciated before connecting onward to PEK. (yes, I know op-ups aren't the subject of this thread and aren't an AA program benefit. But I'm sure my Emerald status contributed :p) |
Also got an op-up today at the gate, ADZ to MIA. Platinum.

Platinum. CLE-CLT #1264. 1 seat. Am 11 out of 19 on the waitlist. Fingers crossed. I think someone put it correctly, MCE is our upgrade. Today.
