Made 1M -- Does it show up Online?

After lurking for many months -- I'm happy to make my first post to say Thanks to all of you out there for helping people like me maximize our membership in airlines rewards programs.

I've been an Aadvantage member since 1990 and just passed 1MM.

This Gold Status will be particularly helpful to me since, with a family of 6, we will now be able to avoid the new luggage fees -- quite steep in price for such a large group of travelers. Of course, this means that we are now further tied to AA as our preferred airline ... which is the point of the program, I'm sure.

The miles posted on Monday. I realize that I should see something in the mail in the next few weeks. Should I expect some kind of designation on my online account to show up soon?

Congrats & welcome to FT!

Yes, when you login, you will see Status: Gold on both the home page and the My Account page. Give it some time, though.

P.S. As a former defenseman, Bobby Orr was my hero.

Already PLT, so hitting 1MM only resulted in 8 add'l upgrades in the AAccount. Looking forward to getting EVIPs next time (2M, 3M, ...) but the upgrades are better than nothing. Is kinda nice seeing a new second comma in the Program To Date number.

Wow, you should have read this forum better.

I am already PLAT too, hitting 1MM tomorrow will net me 4 EVIP's.

Wow, careful there, benzguy80 is correct. If you live in the US (as your location seems to indicate, MCI = Kansas City)) upon hitting 1MM you will receive 8 stickers. 4 eVIPS are awarded to AA customers upon reaching multiple million mile thresholds or to 1MM customers who reside outside the US.

I would be interested in knowing as well. Did you copy and paste from your "Update on your Upgrade Bank" email?

I just checked AA.com and there's no indication that eVIPs are visible online.

Where did purpleskiesfly imply that they were?

thanks ... assuming this was meant for me. it was a personal goal, which was part of rationalizing things otherwise fiscally irresponsible (MR's, charging kid's college tuition to Citicard despite fee to do so)

I'm not unhappy about being Gold for life but having been PLT for a few years I must state that I'd much rather get the 2nd MM and lock in PLT for remainder of my flying years OR AAdvantage's lifetime (whichever ends first)

am looking forward to those luggage tags, but they'll probably not be affixed to the well worn luggage but rather proudly displayed with the other geegaws from int'l trips

OBTW, plan to squander the 8 upg's on upcoming MR AUS-ORD-SEA-PDX-AUS. can't let upgrades languish ... must use them ASAP as part of my obsession. hope by the time I hit EXP (or 2MM) that I'm still doing some int'l travel so I can use the (future) EVIP's before they expire.

thanks again FT'ers for the tips (and patience)

Never implied that eVIPs were online, just presenting that at 1MM you can be awarded eVIPs and 8 upgrade stickers.

some clarification to how this works, if you please

this is first I've heard of someone at 1MM getting both 8 upg's and 4 EVIP's

inquiring minds want to know (even tho too late for me, now@1MM)
