Thanks -- 1MM!!

Well, I made it this morning when a stay at Holiday Inn from last week posted!!

Program to Date Miles 1,000,652

I really want to thank everyone on FT who provided great advice on AA. On Jan. 1, 2007 I had 531,330 AA lifetime miles and would never have thought that I could make 1 MM without the encouragement I received here. All of the good advice really helped me get there in record time.

Thanks again.

I got my luggage tags, but no welcome letter or email. On the other hand, I did get 8 (that's right 8) 500-mile upgrades. No eVIPs though...and lifetime Gold of course.

That's the standard bonus for the 1st MM. The luggage tags/welcome letter take a few weeks to process.

Feels a little anticlimactic backing in with Citicard miles, but hey - they count

My dad just broke 5 million on a NRT-DFW flight two weeks ago. Also, his 25th anniversary as an Aadvantage member is in June. Does anyone know if he'll get anything special from these milestones? (other than eVIPs) Has anybody gotten to this milestone?

Thanks!

Crossing 5 million = 4 evips
His 25th anniversary as an Aadvantage member = nothing.

2MM and first post!!

I've been lurking on FT for the last year or so, and for whatever reason, I never had the inclination to sign up for an account.

Well, I'm proud to say that today, I surpassed 2 million miles (2,002,284 to be exact) with American Airlines! WOO HOO!!

I was able to make it, thanks in part from the tips I received from FT, a bunch of purchases on my AAdvantage credit card, and a little bit of flying here and there. Actually, it was a lot of flying, but who's counting!?

Anyway, I figured it was about time I get an account and pass along input, tips and tricks, and feedback to the others around here who helped me out.

So, thanks to all of FT, and here's to the next million!

Maybe a few hundred from rental cars early on when I had me preference for National set wrong. No mile from credit cards or mortgages or grocery stores or restaurants or what ever. Pretty much all directly from American for actually flying on their airline.

The 8 upgrade credits were already applied. I got an email from them saying "Congrats". The new PLT card with the 1 MM logo should be on the way. Not sure how to tell I have life time Gold. Not that it will matter much for a while. But it's nice to know it's always there. I believe that is all I get.

Anyway, it was a long road. Joined AAdvantage on April 17th, 1998. Hit one million on April 28, 2008. Almost exactly 10 years.
Smeek! I do believe you smeeked in that post.

[I know jsmeeker from another online site... funny that we both hit 1MM within a month of each other, though it took me 23 years.]
