The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entrée Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

Maybe it’s limited to mainline for now? Even pre-Covid either SkyWest or Horizon (I always forget which one) didn’t have glassware.

I can honestly say I've never seen this dish on any restaurant menu but I'll take your word for it that it tastes good....what are the two things that look like two slices of french bread? Maybe really large mushrooms??

Delicious and also very easy to make at home if you're not seeing it as a menu option in-flight.

Trader Joe's has a really good shakshuka starter kit in the frozen food section. Microwaves really well. The only part I don't love is that i haven't figured out how to get the eggs to that perfectly poached state - but it's really delicious with a couple small pieces of crusty french bread. Perfect if you don't have the time to make it yourself. ALSO, if in BOS or DC, there's a small bakery/restaurant chain called Tatte'. They specialize in, among other things, Shakshuka. Definitely worth the stop if you happen to be nearby. If you don't happen to have it on any of your flights, these are a couple easy options to give it a try.

Pineapple Teriyaki Pork Chop. (Forgot to copy the description off the pre-order website.)

Teriyaki Marinated Pork Chop, Ginger spiced Mashed Sweet Potato, Sautéed Veggies (Red Onion, Carrot, Green & Red Bell Pepper, Courgette)

Everything was flavourful, would order again. It was a popular item, 9 people had pre-ordered it. Leaving only the Ancient Grains Bowl and 2 Fruit & Cheese platters for those that didn't pre-order.

AS15 BOS-SEA, 4:35 departure
Dinner
Seat 4A

I was looking forward to glassware being back, but for whatever reason it wasn’t loaded on this flight. Still, I was quite happy that nuts are back

Pre-ordered the miso pork chop about 10 days out, and I’m glad I did because it quickly got scooped up. While I couldn’t taste any miso I still thought the dish was delicious - the bacon-onion thing was very tasty. Served with a standard salad and bread

I initially thought the dessert was some sort of lemon tart but it turned out to be pineapple - very tasty!

The snack basket was offered about 90 minutes from Seattle. Since I was in row four it was rather depleted but had popcorn, biscoffs, and kind bars left, not sure if there were other things.

As an aside, I wasn’t that impressed with service on this flight. After clearing trays the FA disappeared into the galley until it was time to do the snack basket. I had two empty cups that sat on the center console for a couple hours before I brought them back to the galley.

This was my exact take the other day JFK SFO. Everything else on the tray was ok but the pork was very disappointing.

Immigrant Food in DC does a good Shakshuka as well. Had it for brunch this past Sat.

Being given an option of "Moroccan Chicken" or "Autumn Squash Ancient Grain Bowl" for my SEA-BNA flight on 11/17. Anyone seen either of these options in the wild yet?

I will say the sauce stuff on that pm protein plate is actually pretty good. Makes the whole thing not terribly unsatisfying for a short flight snack.

+1 to Tatte's shakshuka. I unfortunately did not enjoy Alaska's shakshuka.

Since I don't think anyone's posted the menu item descriptions yet:
Everything Bagel Quiche
Toasted Everything Bagel Strata served with crisp Irish bacon, sweet apple potato pancake and a lime and cilantro crema.

Shakshuka with Black Lentils
Rich North African spiced shakshuka sauce over stewed beluga lentils and poached cage free eggs, topped with fresh scallion and brined feta crumble, served with a toasted zatar dusted crostini.
To me, it tasted like plain, unspiced lentils over a very small amount of mildly spiced tomato sauce, served with soggy garlic bread. (I was however pleasantly surprised that the poached egg still had a runny yolk!) I think spicy food works great on planes, and this had so much potential -- if only they'd made it spicier and (as is I believe traditional for shakshuka) saucier. Next time I'd personally choose the EB quiche.
