The chicken breast was dry, as expected, but still tasty. The saffron rice and lemon meringue were very good. Still better than what most other airlines are serving these days. No cookies were offered on the flight.

I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

This was my first transcon since COVID, but things mostly seemed normal except the coffee was in paper cups. My wife and I pre-ordered the kale bowl, which we both thought was pretty tasty. My neighbor had the onion frittata, I passed on that as I hate onions but it also looked pretty good. My son pre-ordered the fruit and cheese plate, which came with yogurt. There was one pass of the snack basket about an hour before landing; I selected the pea-toes based on reviews here and was not let down. We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

I was hesitant but tried the Bahn-mi. It was OK. The pickled slaw and Sriracha really made the sandwich. The bread was a bit too thick and some small bits were very soggy. Also, the banhmi had this sauce (Sriracha mayo???) that didn't really belong in a banhmi, imo. Overall though, it was fine. I woke up hungover that day so the carby bread was really appreciated. 😂

This was MUCH tastier than it looked - I really enjoyed it! Excellent service from the flight attendant in First, who gave me a warm welcome as a oneworld frequent flyer.

LAX-CUN
Lunch:
Entrée Salad with egg. (Other option was Beef Sandwich)
This was ok - the cauliflower was marinated in curry, which overwhelmed the flavor of the dish.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

Options for AUS-LAX in a couple of weeks are Fruit & Cheese plate, Fall Grain Bowl, or Herb Roasted Chicken with asparagus, roasted fingerling potatoes and marinated cherry tomatoes. Has anyone had that chicken variation before? The grain bowl just sounds...odd. Sweet potatoes, apple, kale, gouda and walnuts on quinoa with a cinnamon maple vinaigrette?

Not sure if this has been posted yet but it looks like AS updated the Food&Drink section of the website: Main Cabin and Premium Class food and drinks | Alaska Airlines

New options being displayed for Main & Premium. Looks like the new options are a Beet Salad (by Evergreens, with side of chicken available), croissant breakfast sandwich, and a couple of protein platters. Seeing a total of 3-4 fresh options being offered for preordering, depending on flight. Several snacks also available for purchase w/o preordering required - Lesser Evil Popcorn, potato chips, and dark chocolate almonds - I kinda wish that they comp'd some of these $2 snack options in Premium - it's a small price to pay but it probably makes the customer happier if someone (like a non-elite) has to pay more than $100+ especially on some of those longer flights.

It also looks like all flights longer than 2,140 miles are getting plated dessert in FC, which I think is an upgrade because only select markets got that.

The updated onboard menus also look like they're available on the flight status page.

I must say, AS is really trying hard to raise the bar on the dining aspect of inflight service, so kudos to them!

I appreciate all the detail and the fact that PDX-Bay area flights get meal service again. I do find it odd that the listed beverages are only available for flights over 1,100 miles in main cabin and premium class and in first class the flight has to be over 350 miles....I guess that means water only on shorter flights like PDX-SEA and SEA-GEG and some intra-CA flights?

It also appears as if the are extending the dinner service window to 10pm (previously 8pm), unless it’s a typo.

If true, this will be nice for the evening Alaska flights vs just a snack basket at 8:15pm, etc.

Only wish they’d move the 4:25am Anchorage to Seattle flight back to 5am…

It looks like they updated the website...the beverage cut off for both main cabin/premium as well as first class is 350 miles. SFO-LAX is 338 miles so I guess even in F it's water only on LA-Bay area flights. Also, for those waiting for the return of cranberry or apple juice, it appears there are no juice options for now (including OJ which is odd because I'm pretty sure that was being catered prior to these new November catering changes).

AS 116 & AS 92 appear back on the schedule Nov. 19, both depart slightly after 5 AM.

That 4:30 flight has been a bummer. I refer to it as the Peatos & Tito's flight...

Orange juice is an option. Also, first class gets a full beverage service anytime there’s anything (even just water) being served in coach. That hasn’t changed. Sounds like the web page isn’t reflecting accurate info.

AS715 EWR-SEA right now.

Dinner was served... I think I posted the options a couple weeks back. I went with pork loin.

Pretty great dish. Nice big cut of protein. It was a bit dry but grilled onion on top and side Quinoa helped.

Warm nuts were served before the meal. Glassware is back, as is bottled wine.

Overall, great meal!

PDB of boxed waters. In-flight full beverage service in F but no snacks at all, not sure if we were supposed to get any?

My guess is that the snack basket is only available on flights over 350 miles since they list that as the minimum for beverage service but AS Flyer said that is likely a website error especially since you got beverages on a flight under 350.

Unless something has changed, I dont think they have even done water in Y on these short PDX-SEA or SEA-GEG flights so I can see the rationale for not serving beverages in F if nothing (not even water) is served in Y. Pre-Covid, they would walk down the aisle with OJ in Y but that hasn't returned.
