I thought the cod was...fine? To me it seemed mildly flavored and the cod was cooked well and not dry. Overall, it tasted like a lighter/healthier meal. Also, mine definitely looked less black than the one in gold10829's post. Our F/A also wrote different quotes for each of our meals which I thought was interesting.

No plated dessert meant the cookies came out, which ended up being southern toffee with nuts (maybe pecans?), and as expected, delicious.

Drinks were served with a decent sized bag of Chex mix, which was pretty good. I enjoyed a few of the Fremont Lush IPA. I’d pre-ordered the Roasted Chicken Clementine which is pictured below. It was pretty decent tho unremarkable and came with a lemon meringue tart. Service was very good and professional with a pass of the snack basket around an hour out of DCA.

We landed around an hour early due to favorable winds, all in all a very smooth flight although JFK Terminal 1 is pretty sad these days.

Both meals were delicious. The breakfast was very filling, as was the dinner. I know it has been mentioned before, but I can't get over the fact that it's a real filet! I would pay $35 in a restaurant and be happy. It's also great to see that even the disposable napkins retain the button hole.

Horizon does use the ovens on its E175s; I have received a hot cookie after a cold meal.

Even SkyWest provides hot cookies, but they're never quite cooked through (which is okay, gooey centers are fine with me). I don't think they have meal ovens for 12+ meals yet... that's what's coming.

No baileys for my coffee today. Apparently issues with supply chain. Instead got “Five farms -County Cork Ireland single batch Irish whiskey liqueur “

Someone reported earlier in this thread receiving a packaged (non-heated) chocolate chip cookie on a E175 flight so that must have been an aircraft without an oven so either way you get the cookies Frankly, I'll take a cold pre-packaged chocolate chip cookie over those butter nut cookies they're serving on mainline.

The chocolate chip cookies were phased out in part due to too many complaints of passengers getting themselves or their clothes dirty. Sadly, not knowing how to eat a cookie cleanly has had a profound impact on us chocolate lovers.

I guess people don't notice the grease that will eternally stain their clothes from those other cookies. My last butter pecan cookie bag was saturated in (I'll just call it) health sauce.

Naw...butter....as in butter pecan! Not sure which is worse but finally learned how to eat the choc chip without dropping the huge choc chunks on clothes!

The solution is quite simple. Serve the cookies, no matter what flavo(u)r, on a small plate. It has been done before.

huli huli chicken (AS809 PDX-OGG, Mon 18 Oct)

minor complaints —
(1)
balsamic vinaigrette dressing doesn’t really go well with the salad additions (pomegranate arils, quinoa, and orange); something like a creamy citrus might be better
(2) I’m not a fan of either chocolate or marshmallow, so would have greatly preferred a lemon or key lime tart



and on a related note, puhLEEEEZE keep those butter pecan cookies !!!!

Had this last night OGG/PDX. Ours wasn't a little soupy, it was a lot soupy. But as you ate through it the soupiness disappeared. It was actually quite tasty. What I found amusing was that the Ranch dressing for the salad is a huge packet, whereas on flights with the balsamic viniagrette it is a tiny little plastic bottle. Husband declared both red and white canned wines mediocre. I had a Bloody Mary and had to mix it myself, which was fine (we haven't been in F since pre Covid so weren't up on all the changes), but I actually loved the crystallized lime - very strange but good. We both wanted decaf coffee with a liqueur (asked about the non-existent hazelnut but settled for Bailey's) but the decaf was not brewed, it was a Starbucks instant, which looked awful going into the hot water in the cup but once stirred was actually pretty good, and with the Bailey's was very good. No cookies at all, just the lemon dessert pictured then the snack basket passed (and Biscoff's the only cookies in that).

Just sharing some of the new menu items for my Nov 6th EWR-SEA evening flight.




I'll be going with the pork chop, I think. It would have been nice if the bowl had an optional side of chicken breast or something. It still sounds good though. I'll post pics then!

Yeah, the pork chop is by far the winner here although I'd prefer a different side like garlic mashed potatoes....the grain bowl sounds like a no-go....I can't imagine ever going to a restaurant on the ground and thinking, "A grain bowl sure sounds good right now!"......LOL.
