Key points of AC COVID change/cancellation policy [as of December 10, 2021]:
(see this page under "Changes and cancellations")
Unlimited changes. No change fees. – Until December 31, 2021, if you want to change your flight, we'll waive the change fee. After December 31, 2021, you can make one change at no extra charge. If your new fare has a higher price, you only need to pay the difference from your original fare.
If Air Canada changes the time of your flight, you make a change for free.*
*Within 3 days for North American destinations and 7 days for international and sun destinations.
If your flight is cancelled, you get a refund – If your flight is cancelled for any reason and we don’t rebook you on another flight that departs or arrives within three hours of your original departure or arrival time, or if we add a connection to your itinerary, you can request a refund.
Need to cancel? Save the value for future travel – If you need to cancel a booking, the full value can be transferred to an Air Canada Travel Voucher, which never expires and is fully transferrable, or converted into Aeroplan points with a 65% bonus. Refundable tickets are always refundable.
Flexibility with Aeroplan bookings – Until December 31, 2021, if you want to change your Aeroplan flight reward, we'll waive all change fees. After December 31, 2021, you can still make one change without a fee.

It cuts off a number of other airport that have sun charters to Mexico or summer flights to Europe. Places like YXE that would usually support a few Mexico flights a week or some of the WestJey 737 flying to the UK. That said those flights would have likely come to an end in this environment even without government action.

Just saw a report about an infected Air Canada flight attendant. This is the first reported case here on Maui. I hope she's ok.
It doesn't indicate which flight she was on but I believe it was AC587 YYC-OGG March 8.

However, it looks like the same thing might have happened on 845, FRA-YYC, on March 2, and then on YYC-LHR and back, 850 on March 8 and 851 on March 10. Likely same case, likely identified yesterday. Maybe that article had the date wrong and she was infacted in Germany prior to March 2?

We booked 2 tickets YYZ-LHR April 30, $305 per person non refundable. We would like to move this to July 30. The fare for that day is $1084 per person. Do we pay the fare difference?

Should you decide that you want to cancel, you might want to simply wait and see if your flights are cancelled so that you can get a full refund, that way if someone else such as BA has a cheaper fare you can book with them instead.

Good evening all,
This situation seems very fluid. I have a coworker trying to get his son and friends back from Europe. They are flying MRS - LHR on BA tomorrow morning and then were booked onto LHR - YOW - YUL. Of course now the LHR - YOW flight is cancelled.
They are rebooked on the LHR - ORD - YUL flights. Since they are not US citizens are the going to be allowed onto the flight in LHR?
