Flights operated by Air Canada rouge

Dates in brackets indicate planned start of rouge service (either as a new route or replacing mainline service). ML placed before a date indicates the date that service is reverting to mainline.

All Airbus A319/A321 service is in the new Premium Rouge configuration with 2x2J seats. All other routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in a 24J/258Y layout.

Airport codes in blue indicate that these routes are Boeing 767-300ER aircraft for all services.
Airport codes in red indicate that these routes are split between Boeing 767-300ER and Airbus services.
Airport codes in black indicate that these routes are Airbus aircraft for all services.

Routes are organized based on the established rouge bases of YYZ, YUL, YYC, and YVR

I would personally take the layover for mainline.
In my experience you actually have more room on a Greyhound bus than rouge economy and more comfortable seats as well.

I see that AC will be flying a rouge 763 and rouge 319 daily to Barbados this winter (as well as a 319 out of YUL 3 days a week). Would it not make more sense to go back to the 777 instead on using two aircraft?

I would assume no, since you know, AC knows the load factors.

Sorry, dude, I think that one time you had the 772 was one and only time you were going to get it.

Considering the 77L that operated the route has 300 seats vs the 416 that a rouge 767 + 319 offers, No.

It's been said a million times: rouge is an LCC to the airline, not to the passengers.
But I did see Toronto-Dublin return in Rouge for under $450..hard to say that is not value.

And a 'slave ship' has upwards of 400 seats.

And BGI is a leisure route that is most likely filled with ACV pax.

And your point is? 400 seats is 400 seats. AC seems to think they can fill 400 seats on two planes rather than use one and then there are the the seats from YUL 3 days a week. Why wouldn't they direct YUL passengers through YYZ? AFAIK there are no other airlines flying direct, non-stop YUL-BGI so no competition.

So? They never operated a rouge 763 until last year.

Because they can make more money sending their 777 fleet to other destinations and get a proper yield for J class...simple as that.

and there's enough demand to offer non-stop service from YUL which offers better costs to AC then routing pax via YYZ for the same fare.

It will be interesting to see how many of the 416 seats they can sell and what it does to the yield.

A few years back (sorry can't remember the year) we had a mainline 767 and 319 during the Winter season. I believe it was for only on season.

Is the Montreal flight mainline or Rouge?

Montreal is mainline 319 Wed Sat Sun.
Yes it will be interesting. I was surprised with the announcement since the CDN dollar is lower than in 2013, when they had the two flights/day (I think) and with the Bajan dollar tied to the USD, Barbados has not become cheaper.

Is Rouge's economy really that much worse than regular economy?
I flew YYZ-PRG last week in rouge 767, the only nonstop option anyway

Actually good experience, IFE worked on my Android tablets/laptoo
so I'd recommend it for you also
