Mini RTW Questions

Hi Everyone,
I flown dozens of BR reward flights in J, but this time, a friend and I are pooling miles for a mini-RTW. When I search for 1 passenger, the BR itinerary will show (e.g., YYZ-TPE-HKG).
When I select 2 passengers, it doesn't show. Which means, of course, that BR is making 1 seat available. That part is fine.
Has anyone found out whether BR releases another ticket soon thereafter?
If I make a booking for myself, can I refund within 24 hours for free (according to the Aeroplan fee chart), if I don't see another BR flight for my friend?
Thanks in advance.

Another suggestion is to try a different routing from other BR routes like YVR or ORD/JFK?

Is it possible to make a change to an Aeroplan itinerary after it has already begun (ie. you've flown at least one segment of the journey)?
I would presume there'd be a change fee applied.
But let's say you're on a 2 stopover mini RTW (RIP 2 stopover mini RTW). You get to your final stopover (only the flight back home left) and you decide.. hmm.. I'd rather stay here a little while longer.
Is that even possible? (Assuming award availability, etc.)

basically you can even do this... your initial trip is.. assuming 2 stopovers.. from A -> B(stop) -.> C(stop) -> D(destination) -> A, but they want to stay a bit in C..
and then they can just purchase a round-trip ticket from C->A Direct.. so they can resume their trip couple months after.. (from C -> D -> A)
I think you can even extend up to 1 year (from the first initial flight that you took).
And what even better is.. if you initially booked w/ the 2 stopovers rules, you'll still retain that 2 stopovers as well! !
Other FT's feel free to weigh in if this information is not accurate.

How long does it take to get your miles reinstated after cancellation of a ticket online? The message says 10 business days but does it really take that long?
Also, will I have a problem if with taxes reimbursement since I had an even exchange a couple weeks ago due to flight cancellations? Ideally I should get back the taxes and surcharges paid when I booked my original ticket

It's in August, but availability isn't an issue, per se. Just wondering if BR tends to release another ticket immediately. I know we can't predict based on previous experiences, but just wanted a feel.
If not, my friend will just transfer miles to my account and we'll fly YYZ-IST-BKK/HKG under one PNR. Our initial goal was to fly BR on two separate PNRs.

Has anyone experienced whether YQ is always/sometimes/never recalculated after flying the departure on bookings made post-Amadeus?

All J. Fees $221.78 each ticket and fee breakdown includes:
Singapore Airport Development Levy $2.89
Singapore Passenger Service and Security Fee $5.77
India Krishi Kalyan Cess $47.75
YYZ - CAI - DAR (MS)
DAR - ADD - KUL (ET)
KUL - IST - YYZ (TK)

Most likely miscoded taxes... Its pulling up a two letter code wrong from the database.
So it looks like TK has downsized and retimed HKT-IST. Its quite a change 11:00 to 22:00. I m ok with the change, but my Aeroplan itinerary hasnt updated to the new time in a week since the change was made by TK. There seems to be a misconnect with the AC system (surprise!), whereas any Amadeus based airlines have been quick to go to TK even for a 5 minute change...
So if you have a mRTW with TK in it (which I suspect many do) - check the operating times!

The KKC seems like some sort of Indian GST (0.5%) - I wonder if thats miscoded or AC is just charging random taxes

I had done some research and also saw it was a type of an indirect tax - typically levied where the good or service takes place within a country. No different than our CAD GST/HST. It has to be an error. It comes up on all flights I have searched from KUL with no stops in India.
I just did another search KUL - TPE - YYZ on BR:
India Krishi Kalyan Cess $47.69
Malaysia Passenger Service & Security Charge$23.21
Malaysia Regulatory Charge $0.32
I was hoping my option was not to have to try to deal with it after the fact with AE. Talking with anyone about taxes is difficult on a good day. And I specialize in a Tax field

I have not booked the ticket yet. These are the "taxes, fees, surcharges" currently listed on the Aeroplan site for the routing I want.

I just booked your example of KUL-TPE-YYZ on BR in J.
It's encoded as G1.
From https://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/...ture-levy.html:
"Passengers will be able to view the departure levy amount reflected on all Malaysia Airlines’ Internet Booking Engine (IBE) for tickets purchased on and after 1 September 2019 (The tax code for departure levy is G1)."
G1 is also the KKC.
So it's just a display issue on Aeroplan. The amount is correct.
Now I am refunding my ticket.
