Interesting thing is Aeroplan agent allow me to stay in Osaka for a full day 24 hours, and Singapore for 24 hours and 5 minutes in additional to Sydney as the POT and Taipei as a stop over, I guess there is a bit of leeway nowadays for connections^^
No trouble feeding all segments to the agent to piece together and book this?

A lot more data points recently showing this to be possible again...

Yes, was being told can only try to book right at the beginning of the call, only if the system is able to validate the itinerary, then she will be able to issue my tickets. LUCKILY, after I feeding all the segments, the new Amadeus system can validate the itinerary with no issues, and I got my tickets issued, no regrets paying the $30 fee. The 1st or the previous agent I spoke to, simply refused to do so, and stating I am abusing the connection rule, HUCA the first call in 2 minutes.

The problem is I cannot cancel the other two segments might disappear since right now I cant seem to find the same UA flight availability on the remaining two segments.

On the aeroplan website I can only cancel, not modify flight segments anymore.

Obviously I wont call now. But is there any way to do this besides calling Aeroplan later this year?
I'm not sure why you think that's obvious to us.

But no, until they launch their new system, there's no self-serve option.

You could try to rebook the entire thing online, and if that's possible, cancel your old booking after. But I'd just call and make the change.

Abusing the connection rule? That seems like a classic for I work at the airport/for the airline. You're wrong. Would be unlikely for this thread to get to >7,000 posts if it were truly abusive...

I'm trying to do a mini rtw in november-december. I can't find any Thai F, am I too late for it?? or too early?

I know Lufthansa is only 14 dats before departure but I though Thai would be there

Edit: it seems July-August-September is available only. Is it standard

Hello Friends,

Planning the following itinerary and would like your opinions. We are going with no particular destination in mind, and are open to recommendations from you for stopovers/layovers.

YYZ - IST TK
IST - DXB TK

DXB - BKK TG

BKK - TPE (TG or BR)
TPE - YYZ BR

We only have about 2 weeks for this itinerary so don't want to have too many segments. But if someone has recommendations for alternate destinations to visit instead, feel free to share.

Lots of speculation about TG dropping the A380's, which means no more F since they already announced retirement of the 744's.

Furthest Asia 1 City from YYZ

Hi, everyone,

Tried to piece a MINI-RTW for two people in economy (Asia 1), but keep hitting MPM even when minimizing connections.

We were looking at:
YYZ-Asia 1
Asia 1-PRG
PRG-YYZ
(Or reverse direction)

Have tried HKG, PVG, PEK, TPE. This is for December 19-January 1, so priority awards are also compounding the difficulty. We could try for the summer, as well, but the question remains:
Which Asia 1 city would give me the highest MPM allowance?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

MPM thread

Probably HKG.
If you have the miles for Asia 2, you will get a lot more flexibility.

Maybe look at flying to a city near Prague that has direct flights from HKG and to YYZ.

Munich? Zurich? Then a side trip to PRG.

As straightforward as it gets. If this comes up online, it wont be a problem. If it does not, you may have a problem getting specific flights with a phone agent.

Thanks, I found this itinerary segment by segment, but wasn't sure if going through BKK twice was ok... The multi-leg option on the site didn't give me this itinerary so I'd have to call to get this booked.

As long as you're transiting BKK on each side of your destination, you're fine.
