What if it actually comes out?? I hope this can go to rest..really :D |
DEQM ticketing question
I dont remember how it worked in previous years.
Do the ticketing and flying have to occur during the qualifying period, or only the actual flight. i.e. if I buy a ticket today for a flight on Dec 1- 5 , will the flights get DEQM (assuming, of course, that they ever do announce the darn thing this year  ) Thanks for a reply, or a link to prior years' conditions . |
Last year all that mattered is when flying occured, IIRC, but it doesn't matter because we can say with 99% certainty it's not happening this year.

...with no announcement. Called M+. Again. For the umpteenth time, the CSR "hadn't heard a thing" about the promo this year. This is bad. Last year, there were clear indications that they knew it was on the way a week or so before (IIRC). We're running out of time. OTOH, she said that M+ has been getting lots of calls about this and the front line folks have been letting their supervisors know.... SO START CALLING!!!! |
maybe it's just not going to happen this year, and a lot of us won't make 1P/1K/etc. Stranger things have happened :)

They (UA) better hope no one phat-phingers a fare. It'll be a FT pile-on :D
I think we're about due ;) Pat |

Just play with the codes up top -- you'll find all sorts of strange thing pop up if you change a digit like these which all differ ;) - From what I have seen it's just the five digit number in the URL that is key (like the 51876 number in your http://www.united.com/page/article/0,6722,51876,00.html example shown above). Changing that number can yield all sorts of interesting info. For example, I didn't know that Accenture and Boeing employees were currently eligible for targeted double miles promotions. Looks like United's content management system is now up to the 52300's or so, the latest content is not necessarily the highest number, but it seems like new promotions as they come out would get published on the CMS well before the links were made public, as I have found some really odd and interesting stuff just manually going through URLs. Seems like it would be a simple hack to create a quick customized URL scanner that would auto-increment the target 5-digit number in the URL examples above, and spit out the page <title> from the HTML of each of the pages to quickly scan for site content. But now everyone will say that I have too much time on my hands ;-) |
I don't need DEQM to get Q as a 1K for next year. I'll get there without it. Yet here I am hanging on every post and checking the 1K site regularly to see what happens.
I need to get a life ... or a shrink ... or both. |

I don't think so. I suspect more people took advantage of DEQM to become 1P than to become 1K (no evidence, just a hunch).
That was a nice trip. |

Edit to your edited response. Yeppers, rch4u and Richard4009 were also on that flight. |

Yep, I mentioned this back in April 2006, although the method wasn't terribly well received.
