Well I sure you probably could do 25K EQM miles for under <$500 with the ecert $100 off. But I don't even know what BIS is, is that like full fare miles? I am just confused with this 'BIS' talk.

BIS = butt in seat = ~ EQM, which is what we are all really talking about I think.

How do you get them then?

The cheapest method is to have people give them to you for free. Getting them from UA is also popular and free. Others trade for them.

Do they issue these with skykits? Or just regular complaints?

Skykits yield PMO/DOLLARUA customer relations paper vouchers not e-certs.

Well then it might be a stretch but you could do it then with $100 e certs.

You could have done 2 trips to from DTW-HNL for $376 then you could do a fav of mine the SFO(lax)-PVD MR @ $123. For over 25K EQM's that's if you just choose the city pairs UA gives you and didn't try to add more stops.

Again all of these prices include the $100 off certs.

So in that case you are correct. You don't know how much that (B.I.S.) talk confused me. :o

I'm doing 100k bis mid jan- mid feb for $1500 out of pocket thanks to ecerts ^ If UA doesnt like it, perhaps they should stop cancelling and delaying flights so much. :p

Same here.. I did 100K BIS from January 10th to about april 19th for about $1400 out of pocket. Delays, cancel flights, seats not working, and the infamous no special meal on most of my red eye flights from LAX-IAD. Also, I got refunded my $100 for the infamous get 1P by flying 12K in miles in 90 days earlier this year. But I am now set to probably spend 3 to 4 times the amount I spent this year to maintain 1K for next year, not including the higher priced Trans-Atlantic flights I now 'have' to pay to use a SWU.

Are you serious?  If I had more time on my hands (and more money), I would seriously consider doing that. Yikes, that's insanely low.

Someone needs to teach me these tricks...

Yeah, I used a lot of the $75 off for 5000 Miles promotion they had earlier this year. And the flights LAX-PVD was pricing at 156 or something like that earlier this year... It was crazy!

the real trick is to see if UA continues its propensity to screw up. and can get you 100k in 1 month for $1500 without dolling out $1600 in new vouchers :D

It is now October 15th, and I think it is safe to say this won't be happening this year.

If the past is an indicator of the future, if the trigger is not pulled by today, well then I would tend to agree.

If there is an announcement, it could come any time. Last year (on 9/28) it was announced on the 1K site at a little after 7:30 p.m. EDT. The year before (on 10/13) it came in the late morning.

I hope they do not offer DEQM so that I will not be tempted to go after more SWU's.
