On App, log on to view your account details. You will see “view upgrade” and trip details will be shown up after clicking.
My page shows total 100 PP requested. Yet there is only one PNR listed with 40 requested. I know there are two more PNR requested upgrades using 60 PP. They are listed under my trips. But there is NO way to cancel them, because they don't show up in "View Upgrade" page. |

Two-leg trip, domestic plus international. Shows 20 PP to upgrade to Premium plus and 20 PP to upgrade to first on the domestic leg. Add both upgrades, and total is 20 PP (as it should be). But can't check out (website says it needs to verify payment). 1K agent suggests I can't do this - only if I upgrade to Polaris. Is that correct?

Has anyone seen points not being deducted properly? Have noticed that waitlisted upgrades that get cleared during boarding don't deduct the points while an upgrade clearing shortly after check-in have been

Consolidated UA PlusPoints Question & Answer Thread
Hi all, newly minted (PQF+PQM) Platinum at the end of 2021. Missed 1K by 4 segments and less than $2K spend ;-(
I don't post much here so please have mercy on the n00b in general and if I get the terms wrong. I have read the WIKI and as much of the thread as I am able to digest, including using search. I have booked a (work) flight traveling alone Jan 23-28 DEN-SFO-LIH, LIH-HNL-DEN and have questions around using PlusPoints on the SFO-LIH leg out on old metal, and the return HNL-DEN on a 777. Booked through corp travel L class and moved into E+ on all legs. 1. Does the Expert mode phone/tablet date trick no longer work? Or am I too far out to see the upgrade list? 2. I'm only interested in burning the little PP I have and likely to use this year for the HNL legs. Does it matter if/when I request the PP upgrade? I know I can wait until I see CPU, but are my chances better if I request earlier (outbound SFO-HNL has only 4 F seats available). 3. It's possible I may clear CPU on the 1-28-22 return HNL-DEN flight to Premium Plus, which is good enough for me traveling alone if I don't have to use the PP. 4. I think I understand that if I request PP (both F and P+ offered) and would otherwise clear CPU to P+, I'm still getting dinged for the Points? 5. Can I request PP on only the outbound SFO-LIH, and then later, closer to return departure, request PP if I decide that I might not clear CPU on the return leg or see the seats filling? I can see it allows it in the upgrade screen online or in app, just don't know if that's going to affect me if I try for the return closer to 1-28? Hopefully, I've given enough info to be helpful, and asked the right questions. Sometimes one doesn't know what they don't know... https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3f28c9a991.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ac21161211.jpg |
Date/time change trick only works up to 7 days in advance.
There is no CPU on HNL-DEN (but SFO-HNL is CPUable). In my opinion from now till 1/28 you will see more cancellations aka more First class seat opens up.

No SFO-HNL flight, it's SFO-LIH. Assuming you're looking at the codes/seats. "There's no CPU HNL-DEN." Is that likely to change, or it's a given for that flight? I guess I'll just burn the PP on HNL-DEN and see what SFO-HNL looks like closer in? Smaller cabin just seems like I'll not make the cut unless there's no GS/1K going SFO-LIH. |

HNL-DEN nonstop will never have CPU no matter what equipment is being used. CPU eligibility is based on route and you can see which routes are eligible for which upgrades on the United site.https://www.united.com/ual/en/CA/fly...l#region-chart
Looks like I'm burning PP if I want to try. I just hope (very unlikely) I don't have to fly to Guam this year for work. I may just use miles to waitlist upgrade HNL-DEN. Decisions... |
Another question.
Any priority to Miles+$ vs PlusPoints? |
