Secondly in regards to utilizing these PP, If I make a reservation for a flight in May and clear my Plus points upgrade immediately will this use my PP expiring in Jan 2022 or the ones from Jan 23?
My PlusPoints ares still valid/unexpires, but my journey starts after the PlusPoints expires. Can I use them for that journey? No Short answer: No. David |
I’m Platinum and have some plus points to burn. We are off to Maui from SFO this weekend and it’s showing 10 open seats in business. It’s a 777-200 and we are already have the seats at the bulkhead in premium plus. We are no 11 and 12 on the list. I don’t know if we want to use my plus points as we are already happy sitting together, and it’s a daylight flight departing at 9am. Would you use your points if it’s only the solo seats left?

Note that from SFO, you'll only get breakfast in United First for a 9 am flight. Besides the J seat, does that make a difference to you applying and using the PPs? David |

David My company pays for Polaris between London and SFO where I travel a lot from so won’t need them for that. I do have the new chase card so thought we could spend some cash for a mimosa, and light bite. I haven’t had any Polaris food that’s been worth it since the pandemic started. I think we’ve decided to stay put as I find premium plus better then domestic first narrow bodies, especially the bulkhead seats. |
Combined PP and MP Upgrade Award Reservation
My wife and I are traveling IAD - AMS on United over the months ahead. Is it possible for me to use 40 PP for one flight segment and MP Upgrade dollars/miles for my wife on the same segment, all on the same reservation? I've not figured out how to do this on the United site, if possible.

Thank you...

This may be the wrong place…but a starting point.
Does a lifetime 1K, that does NOT hit the re-qualification for 1K this year, still receive their plus points for 2022? Do they receive their full benefits since they are lifetime (3.8) 1k? |

For those non-GS using PPs on SFO-HNL-SFO route, when are you seeing your up grade cleared? Have mid Nov tickets purchased/requested in Sept, seat maps are showing 28 and 42 open seats on 777-300ER for the past week. I even split the locator to 1 traveler per booking and we are all still waitlisted.
As 1K, I seems to get CPU around T-17 hours of the flight. Any data point on when UA clears PP upgrades? Thanks! |

When/did you PP upgrade clear? I have a SFO-HNL-SFO itinerary leaving 12/2, returning 12/7. 14 seats available on outbound, 28 on return, so hoping my PP clear as I have some to burn before end of Jan.

When my flight was 2 weeks out, there were 71 total seats and 24 in C outbound, 143 total and 38 in C red eye return. Both were 777-300ER with 60 C. At T-30 hours, there were just 18 C and 16 C available respectively. 5 Outbound cleared (no status) around T-24 using my PP and 3 CPUs an hour later (2 of us are 1K). On the return flight, none of us was cleared. PP Wait list #2-#6, 1K CPU at #10-#13. Looking back, I should had upgrade our tickets from G-fare so we would had a better chance.

I have an itinerary with a confirmed upgrade in one direction, and am wanting to make a change to the other direction. Just to confirm my understanding: UA can do this without dropping the confirmed upgrade, correct? It would just require a somewhat competent/careful agent.
I asked Twitter to make the change for me, and they said doing so would drop the confirmed upgrade, which does not match my recollection. |
