Post Jun does it matter if the flight is normally UAX or not?
I have a EWR-MIA and a MIA-IAD legs coming up - all on mainline (A319 and A320 respectively) but IAD-MIA is typically UAX I think.
Will I still get hot meal options? Do they double cater the MIA-IAD flight?...

Yeah, I get that - what I mean is it is normally UAX and has a UAX flight number of 6XXX but it is mainline and operated by an A320 - I asked and was told pilot shortages mean they substitute mainline planes sometimes......
That is what I meant by will it be a hot meal or not, because the plane is mainline but technically it should be UAX

PDB of water or “champagne”.
Same two choices of Impossible meatballs or za’atar chicken. Tried the latter, first time hot. I actually prefer it cold.
Beverage service preceded main.

I prefer the meatballs, and I only had the chicken hot once. But that time, I thought the lemon was too strong. It is more balanced when cold, since the acidity isn't as pronounced.

It is a sad commentary on Polaris International catering when it appears that the domestic F impossible meatball dish might make a better entree than what UA appears to be serving in some instances.

Hmm, I guess they figured out we get food - still no email, but the option to select a meal showed up right at 48 hours prior to flight time.

Impossible Meatballs or Zaatar Chicken on DEN-LAX last night.
I went for the former, and honestly, it was decent. As others have observed, better than some of the international premium cabin stuff going around currently. However, and this is a big however for me, I think it is completely unreasonable for this to be the only vegetarian option on board. I'm not a vegetarian, but if I were, I'd want vegetables, not something trying its hardest to be meat. Impossible and co. are squarely aimed at getting meat eaters to eat less meat. They are not, by and large, something that vegetarians choose.
Perhaps the veggies out there will disagree, but I know the ones I know all stay well away from beyond/impossible/etc.

So PHL-ORD in F gets a tiny snack bag. In Y, I can get a snack box if I'm lucky.
Just flew EWR-IAD in F and got my choice from a snack basket (alot better than the snack bag)
I think UA needs to sort this out. It's bad when you can get better food in Y vs F.

Yes, since AA and DL have both brought back the snack basket in F on short-haul flights, UA needs to do the same. Of course "back in the day" PHL-ORD got a full meal in F!

Thoughts on what we can expect for meals in first class?
- MKE - DEN (896 miles) - UX flight - "Snack" - departs 7AM
- DEN - SFO (947 miles) - UA flight - "Lunch"

As discussed here many times, as DEN-SFO is hub to hub, expect a bit more serious meal, hot, at least two choices. Perhaps as many as 5.
