LGA -> IAD. Water only. Drinks in flight, slow and no ice.
IAD -> LHR. Polaris. Sparkling wine offered only (no water on the tray).Late departure, no rushing involved. Asked for a regular white wine, was given the "The carts are locked for customs reasons blah blah". Ultimately received a white wine. |
Water or bubbles on IAH<->LAS in past week

DCA-IAH A319. Yet another no PDB despite starting boarding on time. This is comical. A319 is even worse because galley is visible so you can watch all the catering checks vs providing service. Asked GS if this is still a policy to provide water or something before takeoff.

IAH-DFW - zero PDB. Stressed over bags because it’s a 737-700. Nice for the last guy to board that got a cup of water. We couldn’t get that in first. Just give water bottles if you can’t do any service.
edited to add: zero service inflight. Crew sat entire time due to potential turbulence. Flight was perfectly smooth. Doesn’t UA get thousands of applicants for FAs? |

Water or bubbles TPA-IAH noon flight yesterday

Water or OJ on a recent MSP-ORD flight.
No issue with my “off menu” request for a coffee |
United flight 591. SEA to EWR. No PDB. Boarded in plenty of time, no delays/issues.
|
For this past weekend's EWR-LHR & MAD-EWR open jaw, I received requested PDB bloody mary both times.
|
LAX-OGG Monday mid-morning - bubbly, OJ, or water.
|
UA 674 EWR-SEA - no PDB, not even water. A little late incoming aircraft which slightly delayed boarding, but plenty of time at the gate even after the door closed, alas no effort was made. Catering had finished before I even boarded, so that wasn't the issue either.
ETA: update in fairness to the crew - ground delays dragged on for a long while, and eventually water or champagne was offered. While I would of course prefer that they did the PDB by default, I was at least pleasantly surprised that they eventually reversed course on this. |

IMHO the omission seems especially egregious on transcons, which should be at least a little more premium, particularly coming out of a major hub. |
9/20 TPA EWR 737-800. Water/prosecco.

NRT-EWR
10/6/23 UA 78 No PDB - sat on plane for 50 minutes before in time departure - clearly a lazy crew - can’t wait for in flight service lol…. First time in years from NRT this has happened - UA just keeps declining….. |
