6/24 UA 2058 IAD-IAH (delayed 75 min-ish) OJ or Water

iluv2fly Jun 24, 2023 10:53 am

EWR-LAS on Thursday afternoon.
FA had H2O and sparkling wine on tray. I asked for a Diet Coke,
She said that this is all I am offering. I said on my last several flights that they were able to get me a DC (true statement).
She said sorry, this is all I am offering.
I said "I guess service isn't your passion today."
A few minutes later, a DC. Voila. And she didn't say a word.
NB: there was no rush and plenty of time for PDB.

6/24 IAH-DCA 2472 water, OJ, or sparkling wine offered. I was fine with sparkling wine so no idea if they would have given something else. That said, it was a fantastic crew! Friendly and professional, visible throughout the entire flight. Lots of drink refills offered. 5 stars!

PDB policy/custom?

So should one expect a PDB on any UA FC flight? OR, if the flight is later in the evening, is it a policy (or practice?) to not offer PBD's? I ask because I experienced one shorter flight IAD-CLT with PDB, departing at around 6pm. And then a CLT-EWR (longer) flight, departing around 8pm with no PDB. Is it normal to not offer this as the night gets later? OR was the lead FA on my CLT-EWR flight lazy?

Opinions?

Hit or miss, unfortunately. Recently flew a longer flight to Cancun and back, no PDB beverage and no hot towel out, both offered on the way back only a few days later.

No PDB on SFO-LAS on Tuesday. Was delayed due to EWR effect, so would’ve been a miracle

6/28 EWR-MUC in Polaris. NO PDB.

no PDB BOS-EWR-BOS this week. No in flight service EWR-BOS either. All you get these days in F is a slightly larger seat.

7/22 - CLE-ORD 11am departure - B737 - offered water or OJ
7/23 - ORD-CLE 11pm departure (the inbound was 1.5 hrs delayed) - B737 - after boarding complete, FA immediately whipped out a tray of champagne, water and mimosas. Quick and efficient!

FriendlySkies Jul 31, 2023 10:43 pm

7/29 MCI-DEN B737-800 :tu: - FA offered water or OJ
7/29 DEN-LGA A319 - :tu: FA offered water or champagne
7/30 EWR-MCI A320 - FA simply offered water and nothing else which set the mood for the rest of the flight which was so-so.
