Under the "Aircraft" tab, all currently existing routes serviced by the new 773 (SFO-HKG, EWR-TLV and SFO-NRT are listed) are listed as well as (yet to be converted) 763 and 772 types. For the 763 the listed starting date is "Fall 2017." For the 772 the webpage states "Winter 2017," which sounds optimistic to me as it sounds more like 4th quarter of 2017 than the previously announced first quarter of 2018. Zodiac's output of Polaris seats for all three aircraft types must be ultra smooth by now, if United wants to stick with its predictions. Can't wait to see the first converted 763 in mid July...

Dear XXXXX:
No announcement has been made to let us know when additional United
Polaris lounges will be opening. We are still renovating some of the
locations. Our United Premium Cabin Lounges page on our website will be
updated once the dates are announced. I've included the link for you

Polaris Lounge Roadmap 2017-202x

Not sure if this got posted elsewhere.

Very interesting to me for two reasons.

First IAD is on the list in 2018. Amen.

Second, curious about London. They have the best lounge already, no?

Original source -- Australian Business Traveller - United Airlines lays out Polaris business class lounge roadmap
Newark and San Francisco will see Polaris lounges open in mid-2017, United Airlines tells Australian Business Traveller, although both will be 'phase one' developments with a 'phase two' slated for 2018.
Polaris lounges at Los Angeles, London's Heathrow Airport and Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport are all slated for late 2017, United tells Australian Business Traveller.

2018 will also extend the Polaris network to Hong Kong, Tokyo Narita and Washington's Dulles International Airport, although United Airlines was unable to provide a more detailed timeline for those lounges.

I wonder what the IAD location will look like. C/D are basically one long double wide trailer, so I doubt that the lounge will be as nice as the other locations.

Yes, years ago, C/D were called the "Temporary Terminal".

I asked in HKG this week and they said "Late 2018"

Thinking about it - right now SFO-HKG and ORD-HKG has GF, but SFO-HKG is getting replaced first by 100% Polaris 777-300

that leave 8 GF seats on the ORD-HKG as the SOLE reason to keep the GF lounge around for over a YEAR, instead of closing it and starting to transform it into a Polaris lounge. That seems like a huge waste to me, but maybe i am just missing something.

Some older info that fills in some gaps (hopefully still correct):
https://loungereview.com/united-busi...ound-services/

So if I'm reading everthing correctly, as things currently stand:

ORD - OPEN near C16, Dec 1 2016
EWR - Mid 2017
SFO - Mid 2017 - International Terminal G, existing UC (still open) + SQ + BR lounges
LAX - Late 2017 - Above rotunda near gate 73
LHR - Late 2017 - T2 opposite B46 at existing GFL (still open)
IAH - Late 2017 - between E11/E12, top floor of existing UC
NRT - Early 2018 - above existing UC
HKG - Early 2018 - above gate 61, existing GFL (still open)
IAD - 2018 - near C4, existing GFL (still open)

Anybody notice any construction going on at any of these locations? The fact that UA.com still says most of these locations are in operation seems to indicate no progress.

why would sfo be near gate 70? that is nowhere near where most of the intl flights depart (90 gates)

Are they perhaps restricting access to the United lounge at LHR by making it a Polaris lounge?

isn't 70 near the foot bridge over to the int'l terminal G gates? (arguably as close as any of the actual UA gates)?

The AMEX lounge is at 74 and it is a 50ft hallway walk to the Intl terminal. 70 is only 100 ft further.

I don't go thru SFO enough to know what room is available for lounges, but the GFL isn't big enough. I would almost think they convert the current lounge right by security to Polaris, then convert the GFL and the gate 70 space to regular UC.

yes. which means you have to walk through the tunnel and up the escalators. it would be much more useful if it was in the G terminal. why not put it where the current GF lounge is. i just assumed that's wehre it would be.

It's been reported numerous times that the SFO Polaris lounge will replace the current G terminal UC, which is just past security in the International terminal.

T3 near gate 70 is the new, tiny UC. It's nowhere near the SQ/BR lounges.

Probably not big enough to handle the number of Polaris customers around peak times.
