Actually, snarks, the OP is correct. Even when you select First whether in the drop down or in Advance Search > Fare class, Economy fares are still shown.
However, what I do not understand is why is this problem? Can't you just avert your eyes to the horror?

The problem arises when I moving quickly and click on the cheapest fare (which I think is a business class fare as that was my search criteria). The cheapest fare is coach, I only figured that out when I tried to pick a seat. This happened this morning.
Like I said, I was moving very fast (Like I always do, and I have booked hundreds of flights on UAL.com).

No, the geniuses who designed the new interface hid a bunch of information I want to see (such as aircraft type and connection details) while loading the screen up with irrelevant information in which I have no interest.
This interface scores an F from me.

And to top it all off even when you select Business / first only it will FREQUENTLY show no seats available - even though there are - so off to google flights I go, which is what I would recommend to OP as Google has somehow figured out how to do something .bomb can't - show only UA business class flights...

I don't mind the new interface, but it is strange that they don't really filter by your preference. There are differences - if you ask for Business/First, it shows one Economy fare, but if you select Economy, it shows Lowest, Flexible and Business.
I agree with Kacee - I want to see things like aircraft and connection details - you can get these by changing to the "Expanded View", but I don't see a way to default this (I haven't spent much time searching for it yet).
This matches what other airlines are doing (e.g. Lufthansa) where they show multiple fares in columns.

Search fares +/- 3 days on new website? Possible?
Actually, it's easier. Simply put in your desired travel dates. When the search results come up, on top of them, there is a display of the fares for +/- 3 days (whether you want them or not). Admittedly, it doesn't always display at the same time as the initial results do, so there is sometimes a delay of a few seconds where they don't display.
By the way, this thread will likely be merged into the new site thread.

Just had a nasty bug pop-up, when trying to buy a RIDICULOUSLY PRICED TICKET TO BOOT..
I was logged in, plat MM+ and was buying a ticket for over the thanksgiving period for IAD_SFO_IAD...(840$ stupid freakin' dollars to boot)
Managed to find some flights that had some E+ exits and aisle, so selected those seats and went to purchase. Once I got to the pay screen it showed me 840$ PLUS 240$ for economy plus UPGRADES which I had never selected or confirmed. I DESELECTED the upgrades and it went back to 840$ but moved my seats to something in 30+, so NOT E+
So, I bought it and then immediately tried to select the limited seats I had originally selected in E+..whew, they were still available -BUUT it wouldn't let me select them. When I hovered over the seats, the yellow pop-up said "E+ is complimentary for premium Gold members or higher, etc.." but I was LOGGED IN and a 1P member or higher. Then I came back to the seat selection area and it now shows 110$ to upgrade.. was I not logged in?
Calling got me to an agent who got me the seats and she said "yeah, it's an issue, the website isn't putting in the MP# in the record and it isn't recognizing your MP Status...they are 'working' on it"
seems almost like a little scam.
so be warned if booking seems to be an issue at the moment.

Another bug:
I was purchasing an domestic E+ ticket using a TCVA. The system successfully and correctly displayed the total of the TCVA, the ticket price, and the balance remaining. So far so good. When I hit purchase a box popped up that said I needed to select a payment method. The choices were "Not Selected" and "Visa Pay." Selecting either would continually bring up the box that wanted me to select a payment method.
After about 30 minutes on the phone, I was able to get an agent who was able to issue the ticket correctly. It shouldn't be this hard.............

I'm well aware of this. For the flights I'm looking at, at least unrestricted is only offering F inventory in First and Y inventory in economy. In the old website "flexible" yielded the perfect balance of flexibility and fare for my needs -- with the new website, I'm not seeing the difference (as far as flexibility/penalties go) between Flexible and Lowest Available.

OK - There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with the new website. I just purchased a ticket departing November 21, XXX-ORD-FRA-HEL out in business, HEL-FRA-ORD-XXX back in Economy on November 25 - new site price: $7.2k, old website - $4.5k - I can't believe how far off these are - for the SAME EXACT FLIGHTS!
ETA: This is the third time I have had this issue lately and I think I may have found a clue as to why upon a closer look at my tickets - the old site seems to find a cheaper "A" fare if its available while the new site seems to ignore in - in my last two attempts both google flights and the old site would substitute an "A" fare for a "D" when I selected business class (it was significantly cheaper) while the new site will not - and I think this may be why I its pricing out so differently - either way this is SO frustrating...

I thought you could not do it on google flights. (But can easily do on UA.com, etc)
