All UA A319s have have been converted to 12F configuration
FIRST CLASS CABIN
All A319s have the 'new' UA first class seat. There are 12 first class seats on the A319. Stated pitch is 37" and the width is 21”. The seat recline on the A319 is quite generous, with the caveat that if the person in front of you is fully reclined, it is difficult to get out of the aisle seat and exiting the window seat will require the aisle seat to step into the aisle.
ECONOMY PLUS Section – ROWS 7-21
Row 7 is the best row. Like on the A320, Row 7 has plenty of room plus the bulkhead does not extend all the way down to the floor, allowing you to store bags and your feet under Row 2.
21BC and 21DE do have an extra inch or two of legroom to allow folks to get to the Window Exit, but it is not nearly as generous as Row 20 and Row 21 on the A320.
Rows 8-12 have 35" of legroom and 18" width.
ECONOMY CLASS Section – ROWS 22-35
Pitch is very tight at (30"), but at least the seats are wider then the 757.
IN FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Wifi: Ku band wifi is installed on all A319s. Ku band wifi is the international wifi which enables internet access for the rare A319 trip outside of the lower 48.
Entertainment: Personal device entertainment is installed on all A319s. Make sure you have the latest United app loaded on your phone/tablet.
In-Seat Power: Installed in F and E+.
Other
There is a galley and lav at the front of the plane for First-class cabin.
There is a galley and two lavs at the rear of the plane for the economy cabin.

upcoming flight had been swapped to the A319.
The only no-so-bad news is that all 8 first class seats are
wide open as of right now. UA's system had automatically
reassigned me to 1B.
Since I'm pretty tall, am I better off staying in 1B or
change to one of the other 7 available first class seats?
Or should I call UA to reject the first class seat and ask
to be moved back to 7C in E+?
Thanks!

Avoid 1E/F. Otherwise it's the usual choice between bulkhead and non bulkhead. Depends on your personal preference.

Why would you be "horrified"? The seats on the 319 are no worse than any of UA's other domestic narrowbodies. I certainly prefer the aircraft to the new 739s, with their rock hard seats, lesser pitch, and tiny lavs.

all the other 7 first class seats remain empty. E+ is also pretty much empty.
Guess it's slow travel day?
Like I said, I have long legs... will I be fine in 2E?
Or should I switch back to 1B?
Thanks!

Besides, the gate agent said I was still the only passenger.
in first with nobody on the standby list. I'm only a lowly
gold, but apparently there is only one other elite member
on the entire flight besides me. (not sure why the other
one wasn't upgraded to first)
**** UPDATE ****
on the plane now and the door just closed...
I'm in 1B. There is no cutout in the bulkhead wall. so I just moved back to 2B.
Doesn't really matter as I'm the only pax in first class. E+ is completely empty. E- looks like 90% full? Boy, the flight attendants must be really strict because nobody from E- seem to be moving up to E+ at all and the door just closed 2 minutes ago.
Have to turn of my tablet now....

A319 legroom questions
My wife and I will be flying SAT-SFO in a a few months on an A319. A couple of questions. (FWIW, I'm tall and she's not.)
1. From a purely legroom point of view, how does exit row 21 compare with row 1, with and without cut-outs in row 1?
2. Any sense of how often the two versions of the A319 get swapped, such that we could reserve row 21 as the exit row but end up in another row if the swapped plane is one that has 20 as the exit row?
Thanks for any help!

You'll have legroom, a comfy seat, some extra attention from the flight attendant (8 seats vs 12), and potentially some food depending on the TOD and length. You'll likely not notice any difference from the A320.

Was in 10D and liked the softer seats but man, at 34 inches that is a tight E+. Really makes it hard to work on a laptop. The 700s say they have 34 inches also, but they feel a lot bigger. I usually fly 700/145s or 777 due to being in Denver and taking overseas flights. The 737-800 I flew down to MCO was huge in E+ compared to the 319 on the way back.
The 319 has to be my least favorite plane. Horrible upgrade chances and really uncomfortable to try to work, even in E+.

Anyone have any great preferences as to which is better, Row 7 or Row 21? I've heard that 7 has a cutout in the bulkhead, but is it also more roomy than the exit row? I also tend to prefer window if that makes a difference,
so 7A/F or 21A/F?
