Update November 2014: Recent reports indicate the unofficial status match programme is not running very smoothly. Requests are seldom replied to, and some reports indicate that there now needs to be an activity on the Miles&Smiles account in order to be qualified for a match, assuming they haven't stopped matching altogether.
TK will only match Star Alliance Gold, Skyteam Elite Plus and Oneworld Emerald members. Other, more exotic, gold card holders are out of luck. Please report your experience in this thread.

Has anyone requested and received a TK status match after just having earned Star Gold status with A3? I will hopefully have achieved Star Gold at the end of July with A3 and wonder once they have gotten confirmation from A3 immediately requested status match with TK.

Oh wow, matched back in August 2013 and had given up on ever getting a card. It arrived at my office today! So almost 9 months before I received it.
BTW, just looked at my account and am 99% sure that the UA flights showing from last Dec are actually awards. I think I forced my TK# in for *A benes, but looks like I got miles too ;-)

I didn't send any reminder like I had been thinking of and the upgrade was granted today. The request was submitted thirteen days ago. That's pretty quick, although I did write a good two paragraphs explaining why I would be using TK and the majority of the flights that were on the statement of the other FFP (A3) were of TK.

My girlfriend (EU citizen) just received TK status match to Elite Card level today. Now, she needs to fly 25k miles in first year or 37,5k miles in two years to re-qualify to Elite Level... but, is the first year regarded as from 6/2014 to 5/2015?

The online account will show the exact year but most likely June - June. TK's M&S operates on 12 month cycle, not Jan - Dec as most US programmes.
