I'm using the CBP website to communicate, no particular station. I assume that the person responding to web based questions might just be unaware that, as wilp888 posted, the question at the kiosk has recently been amended.

IAD

Just wanted to see if anybody has used G.E. at IAD. I will be coming back to the US from LHR next week on UA, so I am wondering about the placement of the kiosks......thanks

If you're terminating at IAD, from the people mover head to the right through the gate to the machines. Not sure of the set-up at mid-field terminal

BOS experience

Mrs bosbiz and I used it for the first time yesterday, returning from Munich.

First impressions:
* clearly marked, wide open kiosks.
* took some time to find which airport we were coming in from -- listed differently, not under Munich or MUC.
* thought it was long, until we realized we were the first through immigration, even though we took our time getting off the plane
* separate entrace to customs for program, shared with crew
* agent stopped us and said we were in wrong exit, showed our printout and she said "oh ok, you weren't in uniform". Asked her what she meant, she admitted she was confused and all was well.

All in all a good experience, despite small hiccups. Time to exit from walking off jetbridge - 14 minutes, with priority-tagged bags that came off the plane first.

What do you folks think, is this true? I don't remember being told "all food".
CBP are getting as bad as TSA when it comes to being consistent. The CBP website says something like "generally, bakery items are permitted and need not be declared if under your $800 person exemption." Bakery items definitely includes bread and cookies.

Global Entry and MEM

What is the deal with GE and airports where there are no kiosks?
Do you get head of line privileges or are you just another person trying to get in?

Sorry, too jetlagged to recall. It took me two passes through to figure it out. (About a minute or so).

Head of the line. This is where the sticker actually comes in handy.

Have you done this and to what reaction of the cbp officer? I thought if you were not in a GE airport, they didn't know what the sticker (or program) was -- there are enough cbp folks in the GE airports still learning about it themselves.

Odd things at ORD Saturday night. We came through at a fairly late hour, and things were dead. Mrs. Milepig and I both used kiosks. Mine went right through but here machine started acting up and then said to see an officer. There was NO ONE anywhere near the kiosks, and we sort of milled around for a couple minutes - I was done first and went to see if I could help her, etc. The lanes were competely open and no one ever came over to see what was going on. We could easily have just walked through.

We went to the officer, and got her cleared manually.

The second odd thing was that at customs the person asked to see my passport, and checked that I had a sticker on the back. This is the first time this has happened to me.

I can also verify that the "Do tou have any fruits, vegetables....." message is indeed the one currently on the screens. So, even though I had chocolates I said "no".

I thought the sticker was only for using crew lines when GE was not available. So you might try using the crew line, but I doubt you can just jump to the front of the regular line.
