The first time it happened, I picked "other", saw the X-man who stamped my passport with another visa stamp and told me to see the Nexus office to fix it when I returned. I did that and the correct permit showed on the machine after that.

Then, on my renewal, same thing happened the first time through after that. This time, it was really slow that day, so the "X-man" officer did the fix for me right at the booth. No problems since.

Not sure why the officer issuing the visa didn't know what to do, but maybe some officers understand the system better than others.

I expected to have to report to the NEXUS office on my first post-TN transit, but I was flying at 06:00 so couldn't do it. However, when I had got the TN, he said "I've already set up the NEXUS". I did not expect that and he said that out of the blue. I think you're right that he didn't know how. I think the guy yesterday didn't change anything other than stamping a new one in. I will transit again in about a week, though, and will try to book a daytime crossing and visit the office.
From the sounds of it, selecting "Other" was correct on my part and the problem was on their end. That is reassuring to know.

Had my NEXUS appointment at Fort Erie yesterday, and everything went smoothly and as expected.

Appointment was for 2:15 pm, showed up at 1 pm. Went inside, and inquired whether I should come back in an hour or just wait, they told me to read and sign one form.

2 minutes later, I was taken inside by CBSA office who explained me all the NEXUS rules and provided information; took out 5 minutes.

I came out, and then went for IRIS scan 5 minutes later; took less than a minute.

Came back out again, waited another 3-5 minutes, and then went for fingerprints (CBP office); took about 1 minute. I was then handed a small red bag and told to go to the other side (just the other door) for CBP interview.

Went to the other side, handed my red bag, waited less than 5 minutes and got called to see a CBP officer. He asked me basic questions (why I need NEXUS, confirmed where I work) and explained Global Entry and a few other things; this interview/discussion lasted about 5-10 minutes. He told me I was approved and I should be expecting a card in the mail in 5-10 business days and i was out of the building.

I received an email as soon as I hit the highway (after 2 minutes of leaving the building) notifying me of the approval.

Are you sure it was CBSA administering the fingerprinting and not CBP? Fingerprinting is for U.S. Global Entry; Canada doesn't use the fingerprints.

You're correct, it was CBP. I mistyped.

I had my interview at YYZ on Feb 27. My wife also had an interview at the same time. She received an email confirming approval immediately. I am still waiting and my status is unchanged.

Is this normal? Should I call or just be patient?

Not my experience as I interviewed by myself, but in this thread there have been several reports of couples interviewing at the same time where one got the confirmation and the other did not, and resolved by calling.

You can be patient another day or two if you wish, but I would call in.

I called Ottawa office and got a person that said to call Toronto...I've tried Toronto 10 times today and just get VM. I left a VM but haven't heard anything. Does calling their office ever work?

Ottawa rep told me that sometimes it just doesn't update, depending on fingerprint scans or something.

I'm SURE this has been answered here (given that it's 631 pages) but I wasn't able to find it by searching so forgive me if this has been asked before!

I have 3 citizenships. I've entered 2 of them on my application however the only proof I have of the third one is my passport which is very expired (as of 2004). I'm not going to renew it anytime soon but I also don't want to lie on my application. What do I do?

anyone?

I'd at least enter it, even if it's not a valid travel document. That way they at least know about it and if you ever do renew that passport you can just provide them with it. There's no reason not to, and that way you're on the up and up.

I agree with this. During my interview, they asked me if I had ever had any other passports. Presumably this means expired ones.

I'm not so sure. If you have an expired passport in your profile, you'll have an expired document flag that could cause you problems at the border when you use NEXUS. I'd be inclined to not enter it in the application form, but do bring it with you to the interview and tell the officials about it.

Thanks guys!

When I enter it I'm unable to finish the application since it's expired so I think I will do this instead :)

This may have been covered here before. Nexus known traveler number is on the top left of the back of the card. This is the number I have always used when filling passenger info at on line checkin with air canada and this as well if you click the info tab beside the box. How ever leaving PSP last week the gate agent said that I was using the incorrect number and the number on the back of the card at the TOP RIGHT was the correct one. I have searched the internet but cannot find confirming information. Perhaps a call Monday to a CPC center may be required.

Both of these say it's the 9 digit PASS ID field on your card.
