Generally in YYC the lines for NEXUS moves the same speed or slower than any random regular line for the same reasons.

The last time I was at YVR the NEXUS security line was completely empty and the regular line had more than 100 people in it. It sure felt great to walk past all of those people and go right to the front.

Minors traveling alone

My son just received his nexus card and I was curious enough if he could use it when traveling to the US alone. He has already made a few trips to America via the air and customs hasn't had a problem (asking as he had the permission form...) and now he has nexus. Can he use the dedicated line and the kiosks at the YYC pre clearance area?

Not that I have knowledge either way, but others might be better able to advise if they had info on whether he's 5, 10, 15 or 17.5 years old.

Sorry... probably should have mentioned that. He is 16 years old.

how to answer question about conviction/pardon?

My NEXUS card is up for renewal this year. I have a misdemeanor conviction in California which was dismissed/expunged under PC 1203.4 so in theory I am now considered "not guilty" under California law. The question is how do I answer the following question on the NEXUS application form:

"Have you ever been convicted of an offence in any country for which you have not received a pardon?"

Can I truthfully say 'no' to this question? Am I no longer considered to be 'convicted'? Is the dismissal/expungement the equivalent of a pardon?

Needless to say at an in person interview, if I am asked for more details about this incident, I will answer truthfully and will bring complete documentation of this incident. I'm just wondering how to answer this question in completing the initial application.

I am a dual citizen of Canada and the US and have both countries' passports so my admissibility to both countries is not in question.

The question seems a little strange to me because the paper application is physically sent to Canada but there is no such thing as a pardon under Canadian law anymore--it is now called a "record suspension" in Canada. So what, exactly, is a pardon for the purposes of answering this question?

It's time to renew my Global Entry... is there a way to apply for Nexus and renew global entry at the same time? or are they two separate things that I should just do separately?

NEXUS supersedes Global Entry as it is essentially Global Entry + Canada. I "upgraded" from GE to NEXUS last month and CBP said my GE card would be deactivated but that I'd get all the benefits plus easier entry to Canada with NEXUS.

I'd check with an immigration attorney and/or ask CBSA and CBP. New York has a similar type of deferred prosecution agreement in place (ADC or Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal) that the Feds in the US have selectively recognized. People in good faith answered "no" but then got denied because CBP could see their original pleas, which the Feds considered to be "guilty" pleas.

Fairly newish NEXUS user here - used it 3-4 times and only during land crossings (Detroit/Port Huron/Ft. Erie).

My wife and I are both NEXUS card holders; I am a US permanent resident (Canadian citizen) and she is a US citizen.

Flying in a few weeks from ORD with a 2-3 hours layover in YYZ before moving onto LHR.

The return trip is CDG to YYZ to ORD (thanks low Canadian dollar!).

Questions:

1. Should my NEXUS card be getting me Pre-Check in ORD and YYZ?

... and more importantly ...

2. Am I using NEXUS to enter YYZ for the layover and then when passing through US customs on my way back through YYZ to ORD?

Thanks,

Brian

To answer 2, yes. Unlike most other countries, in Canada, even when simply transiting you technically "enter Canada" and have to pass through passport control to get to the departure terminal taking you to your next flight. I flew AC recently on a trip to Asia (thousands of American dollars cheaper than flying non-stop from ORD in business class - this was a personal trip), and on my flight back through YYZ I went through the Nexus line to enter Canada, meandered about YYZ to find the pathway to the transborder terminal, then went back through the Global Entry lines to get to the security checkpoint for my "domestic" return to ORD (though I still had to show my NEXUS card or passport to board the plane that landed at the United domestic terminal at ORD).

So have an apt at : 6301 Silver Dart Drive Terminal One-Depatures Level, Mississauga, ON, L5P1B2 for renewal.

Trying to change the appointment earlier with no luck. Says no appointments available Thought that was odd.

Then notice another new location?

Toronto Enrollment Center AESC 2935 Convair Road, AESC-Airport Emergency Service Center

Have I missed something going on with the airport location in T1?

There is a notice at the bottom of the screen when trying to schedule/reschedule appointments at YYZ:

NOTE: Due to construction at the Pearson Airport, the Toronto NEXUS Enrollment Center will relocate to the Airport's Emergency Service Center building (AESC) on 6/6/16 If you schedule an appointment after 6/5/16, please report to this location.
I have an appointment scheduled in May at office at Terminal 1, but when I try to reschedule it, they show no availability at that location, even before June 6, but they do have availability at AESC location. They have likely transferred the appointments to the AESC location in GOES, but if your appointment is before June 6, it will be at Terminal 1.

Excellent. Now I understand. I appreciate this.

I don't see why it would be a problem. If he was approved as a trusted traveler and is in the system, there's no reason why he shouldn't be able to use the GE machines. After all, even if he didn't have it, he'd still have to go through CBP alone.

Hi all, quick question. Found some older info on this, but if you can help me out that would be great. Just renewed my passport and got the brand spanking new 10 year passport. Love it. Tried to update it in GOES, however, it won't let me update issuing authority which has changed. Any thoughts on what to do next?

Good to hear! Yeah, I think that by being 100% honest, having all the paperwork to back up my expungement and pretrial intervention, and having already been conditionally approved that I should be good.

Regardless of the outcome, I do applaud how you party, man. Well done.

Interesting. Stopping by the office is the only thing I would do in this case.
