I admit I have not read every post, but I have NEVER seen a new application conditionally approved in a week. Most 4 weeks or more. Some much longer.
Have you searched the thread regarding SEA wait times? I have seen some posts for that station. Fingers crossed! ;) |

It took 7.5 weeks for my application to be processed last September.
As for EDL, all it does is prove citizenship. No other advantages in the Nexus Application Process. |
I've got some international flying coming up so it seemed like a pretty good idea to go for the full on NEXUS/GE deal.
Also hopeful that I'll get PreCheck more often with the NEXUS/GE approval. ^ |

If you are a car border crosser only then EDL should be sufficient and no need to have the hassle of getting NEXUS/GE.
I find NEXUS/GE far less useful at the airport than at land crossings. All it does at the airport is get you through immigration screening faster. You then get to do your waiting in the lounge area instead of standing in line, which is really not that big a deal IMO. NEXUS/GE is not going to get your plane to leave any faster. |

The Nexus lane is 20 minutes on a bad day (long weekends), typically less than 5 otherwise EDL does not have access any Nexus lane, and GE does not have access to the Northbound Nexus lane (only southbound into the US) |

The BC-WA border closest to Vancouver is typically 2 hours southbound on a Saturday morning, and the same northbound Sunday night. Even longer on long weekends.
The NEXUS lane looked like about a five minute wait at most. |

Two weekends back we drove up to BC from WA and re-entered the US at the Pacific Highway crossing with a relative who doesn't hold NEXUS - well over 90 minutes of waiting Sunday mid-afternoon. :(

I got my NEXUS card this summer and it came with my First Name, Middle Name, Married Name. My passport is First Name, Maiden Name, Last Name. Most of my airline tickets are First Name, Maiden Name Initial, Last Name to match my work id which I usually use at the airport (I'm a Federal employee).
I've only flown once since I got the NEXUS card and I didn't get TSA pre-check. Do you think it is because of the name discrepancy or just bad luck. I am getting ready to go to France in April and I really wanted to be able to use Global Entry on my return (which I signed up for with NEXUS, but now I am worried that won't work as well. Is there anything I can do or I way to check this? I am in Chicago and drove to Detroit for my NEXUS interview, I don't want to go back to Detroit again to get this fixed. |
marion10, could you not get a replacement name-change passport and get into the habit of booking airline tickets in the same name as that, and use NEXUS instead of your work ID? That would seem to obviate the slog to Detroit.
If you don't care for that form of address, that would be a problem, but I thought the NEXUS card name fields were populated from the data as we type it in, so if it is not what you input, you could phone the Detroit office and ask about the error - their error. |
It's possible I could change the airline ticket name- except for the international one- that has to match my passport- and I don't want to pay to change my passport. It may have been my error on the NEXUS- I of course had to put my birth name and my marriage information on the form-I just don't remember what I actually put down.

I went and logged into my PROD-GOES account and it has my info to match my passport (First, Maiden, Last Name) which is not how it is on the card! Says I am eligible for global entry and has my passport info, so I will assume those are linked. I might try contacting DHS about a correction to my card. I have a domestic flight on Sunday- so we'll see how it goes.

It's crazy how an appointment disappears so fast, not sure how many people are actively checking, or using script. Never thought it'd be this competitive :P
e.g. I see an 2/28 (tomorrow) spot at YYZ, and it was gone in 6 minutes (yes, that quick) I know because my Python checker job runs every 2 minute, and I got 3 alerts |

I remember you went for your initial interview like a week before me at YYZ, so I can't see why you'd be looking for interviews so soon! |
