Don't think this has been posted here yet but it doesn't say Nexus applies to Privium.
"In May 2009, Global Entry membership was expanded to include Netherlands citizens who are also members of The Netherlands Privium trusted traveler program under the FLUX (Fast Low-risk Universal Crossing) alliance. Present members of Global Entry are now permitted to apply to join the Privium program at Amsterdam-Schiphol International Airport allowing entry into the Schengen area.[4]. Members of NEXUS and SENTRI are also entitled to use Global Entry. [5]" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Entry |
My renewal application was approved without an interview and I got the card in the mail today. Bizarrely, there is a new photograph (of me) on my card, and I don't know when it was taken. It looks like it may be a capture from a GE machine (which would have to have been before my renewal application went in). Weird.

Ditto. I think mine was taken when I got my fingerprints done for GE... I only went through a GE machine once since then, and my hair is too short in my pic for that trip...

Finally have my NEXUS card in hand! Looking forward to putting it to use.
The Conditional approval process took so long, there were no appointments in Vancouver during the time I was going to be there, so I made my way down to Blaine...having left plenty of time to get there, EVERYTHING went wrong on the day I went down: hotel shuttle late, rental car agency couldn't find my reservation, drawbridge closed to traffic, traffic, and busy border crossing. I'd planned on being to my interview over an hour early, but ended up being about 10 minutes late...I was worried they'd turn me away, but they didn't say anything. In any case, the US agent at the interview advised me I could begin using the global entry kiosks with no further steps necessary - is that true? I was under the impression that I'd have to take further steps to begin using Global Entry after NEXUS final approval. |

I believe as long as they took your fingerprints at your interview you'll be able to use the GE kiosks because you just need to scan your passport and fingerprints to use those machines. I've only used GE a couple times since being approved for Nexus and it's gone smoothly for me so far.

Got conditionally approved June 19. Applied May 1. Just under two months. Surprisingly I didn't get status modification email. Checked appointment..at YYZ: earliest Sep 23, checked again and again to get it for July 4, 2012. Happy Camper!
Is interview a really an interview or just an info session? |

GE will work right away. Did you get the iris scan for airport entry into Canada? If not, you'll need to get it at YVR. |

Nexus denied
Hello ,
My Nexus application was denied. During the course of the interview I mistakenly mentioned we had a branch office in NY and I might sometime go there to visit it. The officer then stuck to the point of telling me to provide work authorization paper. I never had one since I never worked there. he then mentioned that I may have illegally worked there and cant grant me the card. I am not sure what to do. I just mentioned it so that it would bring a bit meaning to my application but i never worked or have intention to work there. Do you think it will effect my entry to US? Can I re-apply? thanks for all your help friends..:( |
I don't see it affecting your ability to enter the US.
I was denied entry to the US once because I told them what I intended to do there, and they mistakenly thought I might be "taking jobs from Americans". I've never had trouble entering since then. Unfortunately it is a hard lesson to learn that one gives only minimal answers to government officials and to not expand upon any detail. |
