Now have to wait till March 30th for
the interview ...

No, you don't have to as keep checking on GOES as an interview time usually pops up much sooner though a degree of flexibility is need to take whatever time becomes available.

Well I booked 4 back to back interviews for all 4 of us for March 21st at YEG...I guess I'll keep an eye out for 4 back to back openings from now till March 21st.

If you see two consecutive interview spots open up, take them for you and your wife. Bring the kids along and they will likely get processed at the same time. At 6yrs and 2yrs there is no requirement for IRIS scan and therefore no additional training is required for the kids to get onto the program. Also the interview questions are directed at the parents (e.g. have the parents been convicted of a criminal offense) and therefore the kids can be handled at the same time. The only interaction between the CBSA/CBP officers and your kids is to get their picture taken.

Worst case scenario its a bad day for the inspection officer and they do not process the kids and your still stuck with the original Mar 21 date.

THe YEG Nexus office processed my infant daughters application last year. Very friendly office.

any recent experience on how long it takes from successful interview to cards received in the mail??

Interview on a Thursday morning. Card arrived at home the following Tuesday. Never knew the mail/government could move that fast!

Wow! Mine came today, just shy of the 3 week mark from the interview date. Just in time - we hit the road on Monday.

Applied 16/Nov. Got my conditional approval yesterday (30/Dec). Got a interview date at YYZ for 26/Mar. Checked this morning, got one for 12/Mar. Checked again a few minutes ago, got one for 12/Jan!

Right, no need for me to pick up the checked-in luggage and recheck? Re-clearing security is at the terminal B departure or at arrival, Terminal A? and only hand luggage to take on AirTrain or all luggage??

If it's on the same ticket your luggage should be checked through. When you get off the plane, follow the signs for AirTrain, leave the security area (no check here) and take AirTrain to terminal B. You'll need to pass security at terminal B and then head to your departure gate.

Thank you for the info, yes one ticket. I guess I don't understand some comments suggesting that in USA they x-ray the checked-in luggage even on transit. But I guess I don't have to be there as they are doing it. If issues they will stop me at the gate?? right? ,,,

This has nothing to do with needing to pick up baggage. When a checked bag originates outside of the US, it is scanned, behind the scenes, at the first US point of connection before putting it on the next flight. This all happens in the back - no need to do anything. Though soon, luggage originating at a Canadian per-clearance airport won't need this treatment.

Country of Residence

Trying to figure out how to fill out my application...

I'm in the USA on a TN status, renting an apartment.

When I went to update NEXUS with my TN information, I asked the CBP officer about adding my US address and changing my country of residence. He said it wasn't necessary as I'm on a TN, and didn't take down my new address.

It's now time to renew my NEXUS, and I'm trying to figure out how to fill out the form. Anyone else have a similar situation?

I will call the general information line as well for guidance as well before I fill out the application.

Dec 19 - Interview at YYZ & approval

Not bad! Just need to wait a couple weeks for the card to arrive via snail mail.

UPDATE: Dec 30 the card showed up in the mail. I'm impressed.

One strategy I used to get a faster interview time is to decline the first slot that it schedules. I waited unit later in the day and tried again, low and behold another user had rescheduled their upcoming appointment.

Renewal and Data Descrepencies in GOES

I am ready to fill out my renewal application, but notice some data discrepencies in GOES, and wondering what the chance of this screwing up my application is. I'd love to hear any insight from someone who might have had something similar.

Note the differences are all for things which I either included on my original application, or have physically gone into the Nexus office to change, and in some cases, more than once, but somehow never made it into my GOES profile. For reference, I'm a dual US/Canadian citizen, former Canadian resident, but took residency in the states a couple of years ago. The discrepancies include:

- Old phone number
- Passports listed correctly on my summary page after I log in, but when I click "trusted traveler program" link and my more detailed info. comes up, my citizenship information for Canada says "no proof of citizenship documents provided"
- My "current address" is my old address in Canada
- No address history at all listed (this was all done on my original application)
- current employment section is blank
- employment history has a couple of dates listed, but no other info.

This is a lot of info, and honestly, I have tried to abide by the rules of the program and provide updates as things have changed per program rules. Is this something that needs to be cleared up first, or will they just take the new info. and move on. My real concern is whether the correct info. on my renewal will lead to possible problems because they think i was not keeping my info. current.

guessaaa Jan 1, 2012 4:14 pm

I would just enter the new info an move on. CBP entered the wrong expiry date for my driver's licence when I went to update my docs, go figure. I corrected this in my renewal. You can still update your address and passport info online yourself according to the Nexus website: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/prog/nexu...es-eng.html#c1

Edit: Actually, looking at my GOES profile today, it looks that everything I entered into the renewal application auto transferred back to my old card. So now my old card profile contains new information.
