Real World Example @ MIA, On My Blog
I used GE for the 2nd time in 3 weeks to connect on an ITC (International to Canada) connection in Miami, one of the worst airports in the world to connect through. Summary: aircraft door to Admirals Club in 23 minutes. Including the horrible crowded nude-o-scope security.
Located here at www.ericdavitt.com front page right now anyway. |

Has anyone gone through the renewal process for NEXUS? My current card expires in June so curious what to expect. (Also be interested to see how UA will pay my GE fee as a 1K (a new benefit for 2012).

Exactly 4 weeks since I applied and no word yet on the GOES website. Seems processing times are still in excess of 1 month.

I would count on an 8 week wait time, and I think that's only going to get longer and longer. Then count on a 3 month wait for an appointment, unless you can catch a cancellation (which is actually fairly easy if you check the website frequently).
So basically, plan on 5-6 months from end to end. |

BTW, For those who keep track, the CBP officer in Blaine, gave us "CBP" stickers for GE. He told us it should not be needed though. Just in case.

I used GE twice in the past couple of weeks, once at YYZ when all the Nexus machines
were down, yesterday at JFK arrivibg from Europe. Both times worked like a charm, and yesterday at JFK it certainkly saved me some 15-30 minutes. I was the first one at the baggage belt, ahead even of US citizens. No-one looked at, or asked for, the sticker. |
Mini RTW Change, TG 747 with F to TG 777 with no F

Popped in to the YYC Nexus office yesterday - no stickers there, they said, and not required.

That's what the (very nice) CBP officer in Blaine said too. But he told us just in case, I will put stickers on your passport (he was really nice!).
This guy must have kids! Stickers! |

For me, it took exactly 8 weeks for pre-approval + another 18 days for appointment (I used to check the website at least 3-4 times a day to get 3 consecutive slots in a day!) + 7-10 days to get the card in the mail. Would sum up to exactly 3 months.
FWIW, 6.5 weeks from application submission to emails received. |

Did you do anything special to find those 3 slots in a day? I phoned today for an interview for family of 3, was given March 11. We could do it 2+1 but nice lady on the phone said March 11 was still earliest. How do you book multiple slots on the website?
