There are plenty of divers on FT. I've done this flight and I know a few people who've done it as well. There aren't a lot of alternatives for getting to POM.

Oh, very cool. Didn't know that!

Was that on the B732? I didn't get the opportunity to fly Merpati's. IIRC Sriwijaya and Garuda now fly the route as well.

I'm sure there's an interesting story behind that! It puzzles me how immigration officers work in some places.

I took both of these flights a few years ago, back when United was actually courting elites instead of eliminating them.

They had a targeted offer where for each segment flown greater than the number of segments flown in the previous year during a certain time frame (got that?), I'd get 5000 eqm for each up to 50K. I think it had to be in "V" class though, so the search was on...

I (Actually FT, thanks) found this... SMF-SFO-SBA-LAX-ONT/SNA and back, all for about $200. I took one of each on consecutive days...

Some of my most 'interesting' ones that others might not have flown on.

Denpasar Bali (DPS) - Sumbawa Besar (SWQ) [Wanted to fly on the Fokker 50]
Sumbawa Besar (SWQ) - Lombok Praya (LOP) [Well, had to get back to Bali from Sumbawa]
Don Mueang (DMK) - Ubon Ratchathani (UBP) [9 daily flights (on DD and FD) from DMK, but can't really imagine many visitors to Ubon]
Ubon Ratchathani (UBP) - Chiang Mai (CNX) [it WAS a scheduled 'private jet' flight when i flew it]
Jakarta (CGK) - Pangkalanbun (PKN) v.v [if you like orang utans or have visited Kalimantan you probably would have flown on this route though]

Probably someone would have done this though, should be less uncommon.
Singapore (SIN) - Cairns (CNS) v.v on the direct. [flew it on SQ in 1999 a few months/years before the route was discontinued. Australian Airlines flew it too but it too stopped. The Jetstar flight a few years back was via Darwin though. Silkair is resuming links between the 2 cities next year though]

Done this (Batik Air), but i would think that this is a very popular route.

Thankfully my friend lived near the airport so I was able to get a free ride out when I did this route Looks to be a good choice given the comments, didn't know it was so bad haha.

PER-YJUN (Jundee) in an EMB120. Jundee is a remote mine site about 500km ENE of PER. It doesn't even have an IATA code!

If we're going to start counting private air strips in remote areas, I'm going to have to publish a slightly larger list. Start with Barrow Island. Gobe, Kopi, Kutubu (PNG). A dozen or more offshore platforms and FPSOs. Malongo, Angola. Escravos, Lagos Lagoon, Onne (Nigeria). Tenghiz Kazakhstan. Various unnamed places in Indonesia.
